The tournament was inaugurated on May 29th, 2023, at Baitul Futuh. Over the course of three days, starting from Tuesday, a total of 48 matches were played across 6 different venues, with 294 players participating from various countries. The participating countries in the tournament included Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Pamaa, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway, the United States of America, and New Zealand. These teams showcased their talent and competed fiercely throughout the tournament. In the last three days of the tournament, an impressive total of 11,779 runs were scored. The matches saw a total of 547 wickets fall, with 10,033 balls delivered by the bowlers. The batsmen hit 1,215 fours and 424 sixes during the matches. Notably, there were six centuries and 44 fifties scored by the players, highlighting their exceptional performances. One of the standout moments of the tournament was the two hat-tricks achieved by Mubarak Asadullah, the captain of Team Canada. This feat added an extra layer of excitement and skill to the matches. Additionally, there were a total of 287 catches taken by the players throughout the tournament, showcasing their fielding prowess. Canada set a record for the highest-ever total in the tournament's history by scoring 276 runs with the loss of 5 wickets against Sweden. On the other hand, Norway faced a tough time during the tournament, with their lowest total being 47 all out. In a match against England, Norway was chased down in just 7.3 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. As the tournament progresses to its final stages, the semi-finals and the grand finale will take place today at 9 am and 4 pm, respectively.
