ANCL ALL STARS ON THEIR PATH TO USIL 2022

American National Cricket League All-Stars are returning to Los Angeles for Sheikh Kamal USA National Inter-league T20 Tournament this Labor Day weekend. This will be the ANCL All-Stars second attempt at the trophy in as many seasons. Players from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia will represent ANCL. In ANCL’s inaugural season last year, they got the opportunity to play against some of the best talents the United States has to offer.

ANCL All-Stars will be led by captain Nohman Amir, a versatile all-rounder, and vice-captain Shawn J. Corera, an attacking batsman. ANCL felt that it was essential to have continuity in leadership and selection, factoring in the lessons and experience gained from last year’s tournament. The players feel more confident knowing the conditions and having played at Woodley Park. Their batsman has all been in good form; scoring runs in ANCL and local tournaments around the DMV area. In the most recent T20 match, All-Stars bowled out their opponents for 14 runs. Ahmed Chaudhary picked up a five-wicket haul in his four overs at an economy rate of 1.25. Raza Saba, another all-rounder in the squad, bowled a three-wicket maiden. Hamayun Mirza is also part of the squad and carries a wealth of knowledge and experience. In his last four innings, Ehtisham Maqbool has scored three 50-plus scores and a century. Ehtisham and Farhan Mirza will perform the wicket-keeping duties on the tour.

ANCL All-Stars spin attack will consist of Anuj Paudel, Tamim Habibi, and Muhammad Yasir Amir. The squad also consists of Shoaib Awan, Kausher Ahmed, Muhammad Faraz, Prince Gill, Shehan Perera, and Riaz Ahmed, who have all been outperforming their opponents in their respective departments. The squad is balanced with experience, and in Anuj, Riaz, Shoaib, and Prince, ANCL has the best upcoming talent from the region.

The squad has players of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Sri Lankan descent. The diversity is a true reflection of the diverse population of the region they will represent in the tournament. The ANCL All-Stars are looking forward to showcasing their talent against some of the best players in the country. The touring squad will be represented off the field by ANCL President Tajammal Butt and ANCL Director Asim Zafar.
