UGB Barka Clinch a thriller to qualify for BCL-1 Finals; Royal Stars Barka beat Al-Danube

Muscat: UGB Barka defeated IAS Engineering by 1 Run in a thrilling Semifinal to enter a summit clash of BCL-1, whereas Royal Stars Barka beat Al Danube comprehensively by 47 Runs. The two finalist will clash against each other & play for the title championship in a mega final which is scheduled to be played on Friday-31st December 2021 at Al Hail Cricket Ground. SF-1: UGB Barka vs IAS Engineering In the first semifinal against IAS Engineering, UGB Barka won a thriller holding their nerves to defend 18 runs off last over. Opting to bat first, UGB rode on the contributions from Hafiz Rana (26) & Abrar Javed (24) to post a fighting total of 110/10 and then restricted the opposition to 109/6 with Hafiz Rana holding his nerve in final over. Hafiz had to defend 18 runs and he ensured that his side would face Royal Stars Barka in summit clash. Brief Scores: UGB Barka 110/10 in 16 overs (Hafiz Rana 26, Abrar Javed 24; Haythim Bahar 4-15) beat IAS Engineering 109/6 in 16 overs (Yasir 27, Faris 21; Yasir Ali 3-33) by 1Run. SF-2: Royal Stars Barka vs Al Danube In another semifinal, Royal Stars Barka beat comprehensively Al Danube by 47 runs. After losing the toss & putting into bat first, Royal Stars Barka managed to post competitive 166/5 in 16 overs. Brilliant half century from Nisar Hasan (59 off 33 balls) & equally supported by Deepak Ramaswamy (33 of 24 Balls) toyed Al-Danube attack. Batting second with a huge target on board, Al Danube never seemed to be in chase & could managed only to reach 116/9 in 16 overs. Nikesha Girish was the pickup bowler for Royal Stars, Claiming 4 wickets for 20 runs. Brief Scores: Royal Stars Barka 166/5 in 16 overs (Nisar Hasan 59; Deepak 33; Ashok 3-52, Mydeen 1-28) beat Al Danube 116/9 in 16 overs (Mohd. Irfan 21; Nikesha Girish 4-20, Venkatesha 2-30) by 47 Runs.

BCL TOURNAMENT RULES

BCL Cricket reserves the right to change or modify the rules/playing conditions as deemed appropriate before or during an event. Any changes made will be conveyed to all team captains and umpires.
All players and officials taking part in BCL Cricket events agree to the rules & regulations outlined. Any player or team in breach of the rules, spirit of cricket or bringing BCL or the game into disrepute will be terminated from participating in the BCL Cricket Tournament.
Umpiring will be done by the batting team in a spirited manner without any bias for all matches. BCL will arrange umpires for Semi Finals and Finals.
Umpire decision will be the final decision. However, Main & square leg umpire will have a consultation before making any conservational decisions

Note: The main umpire may at their absolute discretion over-rule an incorrect or unfair decision.

Show respect to opposition players, teams and umpire. Insulting, intimidating behaviors will not be accepted on or off the field.
Unruly, bad behavior will not be allowed on or off the filed by anyone. BCL management reserve the rights to remove the player/individual immediately from the field or ban the club from remaining matches if found guilty.

FIXTURES AND TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

The final structure of the league will be announced as per the total number of teams.
However, due to Covid situation BCL management has full authority to change it during the event to complete the tournament in case of long gaps due to lockdown and any other such.
Any changes made will be conveyed to all team captains.
All games must be completed in accordance with the schedule allowed. No rematch is allowed under any circumstance.

PARTICIPATION OF TEAMS, PLAYERS & SUBSTITUTES

The minimum number of players required to register a team is 15 players.
A team can add additional 5 players in in the squad before the end of group/league stage.
No additions can be made to the team after the stated cut-off dates i.e. league/group stage.
The team should provide players ID card or passport number & Vaccine certificate.
All players should have vaccinated by 1 dose at least
Wicket keeper is allowed to bowl immediately after keeping.
A player’s will be allowed to represent only 1 team.
If a team is found with a player other than the player list. The teams will lose 2 points if they had won the match on same day.
A runner can be allowed for on field batsman with the permission of the opposing team captain.
Retire hurt batsman will be allowed to bat as the last batsman for the team.
Bowler should be in the field for 3 overs to ball again if he goes for a break out of the field for 2 overs
Entry fees Once paid will not be refunded

CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that the team has paid its registration fee in full before the league starts
Ensure that the team arrives at the match on time
Informs opposing captain of playing XI and notifies BCL Management of any players that are playing and are yet to register themselves.
Provide new Tennex yellow ball at the start of the match
Ensure the scoring is done in the Cricket Scorer App recommended by the BCL committee
Assign a good scorer who has knowledge of using the cricket scorer app.
All players name in the app are according to the ID Card which are entered on the website. (No short and pet names are allowed under any circumstances).
Ensure that the team and all players play within the BCL Spirit of Cricket and adhere to the rules and regulations outlined
Approach the umpire for any clarification

DURATION OF THE MATCH

The match to start by 5:30 AM, if the team reaches after 6.00 AM. 2 overs will reduce for them while batting (from 16 overs). 6:15 AM 4 overs will be reduced for them while batting (from 16 overs). The timings will be changed in Winter season and will be notified to the captains in the group.
Each innings will comprise of 1 hour 15 minutes.
Bowling captain must ensure they maintain a reasonable over rate and good behavior of the team in the field
Each innings interval shall be no more than 10 minutes in for all matches.
There will be no formal drinks break.
However, in extreme heat conditions, under the discretion of umpires, players may be permitted to take drinks break.
In certain limited cases, batsmen can call for drinks between overs with the approval of the umpires.

BOWLING

4 Overs per bowler and minimum of 4 bowlers to be used
If a bowler cannot complete an over due to injury or being penalized, the remaining balls in the over will bowled by another bowler who has not bowled previous over
Bowling is allowed inside the return crease only
Throwing is not considered as bowling; the bowler will be taken out immediately
A bowler is required to inform the umpire from which side and arm he will bowl, otherwise it will be called as a No-Ball.
Only one bouncer is allowed in every over and the second bouncer will be a No Ball. Above shoulder line bouncer can be called as first bouncer. Bouncer above head will be wide and same can be called 1st bouncer.
Any delivery which passes or would have passed on the full above waist height of the striker standing upright at the popping crease is deemed a no-ball.
The decision of no-ball rests with the main on-field umpire (upon consultation with the square leg umpire) or by mutual agreement with the square-leg umpire
If a bowler bowls 2 waist height full toss in the match, he will be taken out of the attack at the same time and cannot bowl in the match.
To keep the spirit of cricket, Mankading is only allowed after the 1st warning to each batsman
If the ball pitches or goes through the wide line it will not be a wide ball
Leg side bowl will be called as a wide.

POWERPLAY & FIELD RESTRICTIONS

Three fielders must be inside the inner circle for entire 16 overs.
5 players can be placed on leg side (Bowler and Wicket keeper not included)
Only 2 fielders can be placed behind the square leg umpire
Main or square leg umpire can call NO-Ball if fielders are not in proper fielding position and if any fielder shouts or talks while bowler is bowling after a warning given to the captain.

POINTS & PROGRESSION

A team that wins will be awarded 2 points, in case of loss 0 points
In case of No Result or Match Abandoned, each team will be given 1 point
A match shall be lost by a side which concedes defeat or forfeits the match (due to arriving late, not being able to play, late withdrawal from the tournament, disciplinary reasons or any other reasons deemed fit by BCL)
In case of a tie a Super Over will be played until the result is obtained or if Super Over is not possible due to any circumstances the winner will be decided by coin toss.
Net run rate will be calculated if teams have equal number of points to advance to the next stage
If Net run rate is equal, there will be a Super Over to decide who goes in to the next stage or if Super Over is not possible due to any circumstances the winner will be decided by coin toss
