Black Widow JNRT20 2023

Playing Conditions

General playing conditions apply in accordance to the MCC laws for T20 cricket inclusive of no-ball free hit (front
foot, waist high and field restrictions). Please refer to this link for full details
Link to the MCC Laws of Cricket
Please ensure that all laws are made known to players. We will be strictly enforcing the laws, especially the player
conduct stipulation which, if not adhered to could, lead to a disciplinary hearing and/or suspension.
The only exceptions to the above laws are as follows:

Ball Weight

Under 9 & Under 11 White   113gm ball
Under 13 White                    135gm ball
Under 15 White 2pc             156gm ball
Under 17 White 2pc             156gm ball

Maximum balls

- Under 9 and 11 teams will have a maximum of 8 ball over except in the last over of an innings. A full legal over must be bowled in the last over
   of each innings.
- Under 13 and 15, 17 and Senior 6 legal deliveries.

Allocated time

Matches are to be completed in 2hours 30min and broken down as follows:
1st innings: 1 hour 10 mins; 2nd Innings: 1 hour 10 mins; 10 Minute change of innings
To ensure that matches move quickly there are a couple of very important processes that need to take place:
- Ends are changed every 10 overs only - Incoming batsman must cross over with the out batsman on the field of play.
- Batsman must be ready to face the bowler when he is at the top of his mark. 1 warning must be given to the Batsman and if he continues to
slow down play then 5 penalty runs would be deducted from the batting team
- Umpires need to keep captains in check every 5 overs to ensure they run on schedule
- Should a team not finish their 20 overs in the allocated time, 10 Penalty runs per over not completed would be added to the oppositions score

Weather interruptions

- If weather interrupts play and no play is possible then the match would be considered a drawn match and both teams receive 2 points and a
positive net run rate of 0.5 - If weather interrupts first innings of a game overs will be deducted at a rate of 1 over every 3 minutes from both
teams (if it is an odd number then a mutual decision needs to be made by the umpires for the closest even number)
- If the match is “interrupted” longer than 1hour (10 overs per team) then the game would be defaulted to a no result and both teams would
receive 2 points and a positive net run rate of 0.5
- If a team batting first bats more overs than the second team bats (due to the interruption). The match would be considered a draw and both
teams receive 2 points and a positive net run rate of 0.5
- If weather interrupts (at any point) the second innings the match would automatically be abandoned and would be defaulted to a no result and
both teams would receive 2 points and a positive net run rate of 0.5
- In the event of a match being stopped due to weather the final decision must be made by the administrators of the league

LBW Rule

No LBW will apply at under 9 Age Group.

No Show

- If a team does not show for their fixture at all, the opposition will receive full allotted points of 2 and an additional +1 net run rate. The team
that does not show for the fixture 2 points will be deducted from the log and could automatically be expelled from the tournament and ALL
  future Black Widow JNRT20 leagues
- If a team arrives late to a fixture they will lose overs to their batting innings based on the amount of time lost at a rate of 3mins an over.
Minimum of 7 players are required to start a match and must be present at the ground at the time of the toss.

Point system

- If a team wins, they will receive 4 points - If there is a tie fixture then both teams receive 2 points - Drawn game, both teams receive 1 point and a +0.5 nett run rate
- Tie game each team receives 2 points - There will be NO bonus points
- If teams are tied on points during group games, NET RUN RATES will be used to decide positions
- In the knockouts, if there is a tie, then a super over will be played with no limit on the number of wickets lost.
- If there is still a tie after a double super over, then a bowl out will take place until there is a result

Clothing and items

- Under no circumstances may a player wear a white shirt or anything that would distract a players’ view of the white ball. The player would be asked to remove such items or shirt before returning to play
- White longs are permitted
- Umpires are forbidden to wear any clothing that would distract a batsman with the colour of the ball. If an umpire is wearing white or something similar, the manager would be notified and a replacement must be available to take over

Registration

- All players that have been registered and been approved by the Administrators (to play in a specific age group) are eligible to play for the teams they have been registered for.
- Maximum of 15 players can be registered per age group.
- Players to be registered by25 July 2022. Name Surname Date of Birth.

Age group restrictions

U9 – 2014+ birth year
U11 – 2012+ birth year
U13 – 2010+ birth year
U15 – 2008+ birth year
U17 – 2006+ birth year

Girls who play in boys teams can be up to 2 years older than a specific age group
- Players who have not been registered and approved to play for a specific team and are not on a team list would be removed from a fixture.

Umpires

We have implemented a fair play report that needs to be completed after every match by the officials on the day. Should there be any disputes during the match, umpires should convene to sort out the issue. If the dispute cannot be resolved play should continue and these matters brought to the attention of the league administrators to sort out.
If umpires and/or players are receiving verbal abuse from players or parents these incidences need to be noted and the league administrators need to know about it as soon as soon as possible.
Should a ball be hit and not found, a quick and decisive call needs to be made by both umpires to introduce a new ball into the game (do not delay). Should there be a long delay due to this, the umpire that delays the match will be dealt with after proceedings and no penalties would be applied to the team affected by this incident.
During the power play (first 6 overs), only 2 fielders may be on the boundary. There are no inner ring markings so umpires need to monitor this (players may be mid-way to the boundary). After the 6 overs, 5 players are allowed outside the inner circle.
The coin toss needs to have both team captains and both match officials present to witness the coin toss and to ensure that it has been conducted fairly. The coin toss must be done 15 mins before play starts and teams should be ready to take the field the minute the proceeding match finishes.
Start times should always be noted by BOTH match officials.
If a team has started an over before time has expired, they can complete that over. Penalties need to be noted and league administration needs to be made aware of it.
Umpires should keep captains in check with time every 5 overs to ensure that matches are run on time.
If a match finishes earlier than anticipated on the schedule the next match should NOT start sooner to make up time. The fixtures should run according to the SET schedule.

Parent Conduct

- Umpire or player abuse will be dealt with by league administrators. If any parent is found to have verbally abused or physically abused or laid a threat to players or match officials, the league administrators have right of admission and will either remove, suspend or expel the parents at their own discretion
- Delfos and its schools accepts no liability for damages should they arise. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES may vehicles be parked or used to drop off items on a field
- After your team has played a match, the coach/manager must ensure that ALL RUBBISH is picked up and disposed of. Failure to clean areas would result in Delfos implementing suspension from all competitions.
- It is also requested that every coach/manager informs their respective parents to clean up after matches - Under no circumstances will parents be allowed on the field of play, unless a player is injured and the coach has asked for assistance
Delfos reserves the right of admission for teams, parents, players and coaches/managers to participate in the Black Widow T20 tournament
Delfos accepts no liability for damages, injuries, deaths or damage to property.
