NEW EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS WITH YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME COACHES

NEW EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS WITH YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME COACHES

The Cricket Board of Maldives is pleased to announce the creation of 15 Youth Development Programme Cricket Coach positions across the country.

The positions have been awarded to qualified coaches that have a history of experience delivering the Cricket Board of Maldives development programmes.

The Greater Malé area benefits from 15 coaches, 5 for Fuvahmulah City and 2 for L, Kunahandhoo. When the current COVID-19 restrictions are lifted the CBM will begin to implement a freshly designed Youth Development Programme aimed at recruiting new players, boys and girls from across the nation.

In addition to the Youth Development Programme, each coach is to train at least one women’s team of players – demonstrating the continued work of the CBM towards women’s development on and off the field.

CBM President Mohamed Faisal stated ‘in this difficult time, to keep cricket going, there are many committed cricket coaches. Therefore the CBM management decided to create these agreements’.

The structure of the agreements is based on Time and Training. The more time spent by a coach implementing sessions with teams, the more each coach can earn.

Moreover, the CBM is happy to announce that all coaches will be able to earn more than ever before.

A close working relationship between the cricket coaching staff and the CBM management team is vital for the development of cricket across the Maldives and these agreements along with the tailored Programmes is a positive commitment from the Cricket Board of Maldives towards rewarding those coaches that continually strive for the development of cricket in the Maldives.
