   1. • Umpire’s decision will be final.
   2. Players can register for only one team, if your team is out, you cannot play for any other team in that tournament. Players can switch teams prior to start of the next tournament with a release letter from their former team’s registered captain.
      • Teams are responsible for their own cricket bats and equipment. Calgary sports league or facility will not be responsible for any lost or missing equipment.
   3. No white clothing permitted. The teams should select a color and all players should be dressed in the same color. The selected color should be approved from Calgary Sports League so that multiple teams don’t end with same color. The trousers should be black or dark blue or navy blue. All teams/players are expected to be in play-wear according to above criteria. If sponsor shirts are provided then it is mandatory to wear them.
   4. Fiber bat is NOT allowed.
      • Tournament/Game format shall be strictly followed by all teams and can be changed or modified at any time by the Calgary Sports League representative.
   5. All complaints or suggestions can be forwarded to calgarysportsleague@gmail.com.
      • Calgary Sports League reserves the right to change the schedule of the tournament without notification. Teams are obligated to follow the distributed schedule.
   6. Captains are responsible at all times for ensuring that the game is conducted in its highest spirit.
      • Captains are responsible for proper disposal of garbage and clean-up of their team
   7. All teams are bound to send their two capable umpires and one scorer as per distributed schedule. If umpires and scorer representing the team fails to show up before start of the game, this will result in 1 penalty points for that team per person that didn’t show up according to above criteria. For clarification if both umpires and scorer didn’t show up then 3 persons X 1 points = 3 points will be deducted.
      • Toss time will be 15 minutes prior to starting time of the game as per the schedule distributed.
   8. Winner will be awarded 4 points, loser will get 0. If both teams do NOT show at toss, then each team will get 0 point. Match tie both teams will get 2 points.

       

       

       

       

      1. Depending upon the situation (Committee’s Decision in consultation with umpire) there will be penalty of 6 runs per ball. On end of the last minute the innings play will stop.
         • Ranking will be decided based on points. If two team that are qualifying for play-offs stage then winner of their head to head matches during the pool or league stage proceed to the play-offs. If two teams still remain tied then the team with higer net run rate (NRR) will proceed to play-offs. If the play-off game is tied then super over will decide the match. If super over is tied then the team who hits most number of sixes will win.
      • The ball passing on the line marked for wide ball will be considered a wide ball.
      • ALL balls passing from the leg side will be considered a wide ball, unless the ball is passing over the stumps then it will be considered a dot ball. It will be umpire’s decision whether the ball is passing over the stumps or not.
      • Unnecessary arguments with the umpire or committee of Calgary Sports League can result in penalty which will be decided by the committee of Calgary Sports League.

       

       

       

       

      1. This penalty can be on the player in that case it can result in player being banned to play any number of matches or $50 fine which should be submitted before the next scheduled game for that player’s team. Captain is responsible to submit to the fine.
      2. OR this penalty can be against the team in that it can result in penalty points towards the overall team’s standing table for that tournament.
      • All players and teams shall not be engaged at any time in conduct which could bring the game into dispute. Players and teams shall not use rude or abusive language. If a player or team is engaged in such behaviour the committee can impose the following penalties.

       

       

       

       

      1. • Player being banned to play any number of matches or $50 fine which should be submitted before the next scheduled game for that player’s team. Captain is responsible to submit to the fine.
      2. OR this penalty can be against the team in that it can result in penalty points towards the overall team’s standing table for that tournament.
      • Scores will be updated at the end of over. Bowling team can ask for the scores at the end of each over and keep a tally.
   9. No runners will be allowed.
      • ALL PLAYERS will sign off a wavier before the player is allowed to play any match. All the playing members of the team are required to sign off on the waiver to be eligible to play any match.
      • Bowlers bowling with improper action (all actions that are not proper e.g. jerk in action or "watta" in urdu etc) will result in over being dismissed and 6 runs penalty. Another bowler will have to continue from where the over is stopped. The bowlers who have completed their quota for the match cannot bowl the remaining over. The remaining over will be counted as a full over towards the quota of the new bowler.
      • ALL no balls including but not limited to front line, side line, shoulder height, and waist height will result in a free hit to the batsman.
      • Leg stump beat, wide, legs bys, bys, over throw runs are allowed. L.B.W out is not applicable.
      • Only 1 shoulder height bowl is allowed per over. Any ball after that which is above shoulder height (even played by batsman) will be considered as no ball. If the second ball above shoulder height is away from batsman and considered to wide then it will be given as wide instead of no ball.
      • If a batsman is retired hurt and desires to bat again after recovery, then batsman will be allowed to bat at end as the last batsman.
      • If bowler gets hurt and leave the field, the remaining over completed by a bowler who have not completed their quota for the match. The partial over completed will be counted as a full over towards the quota of the new bowler.
      • If a club registers two or more teams there will be no floating allowed within the teams of the same club.
      • Winning team is responsible to provide original scoresheets to CSL and upload the scores and statistics to cricclubs.com or other instruction from CSL.
      • Any payment (i.e. Fees, dues, donation, sponsorship) made to CSL are non refundable.
      • Only registered players will be allowed to play match. Club should send player registration requests minimum 3 days before the next scheduled match to CSL email in accordance with format requested by committee.
      • If the Umpire decides that playing conditions (including but not limited to severe weather) are unplayable then the match will be abandoned and winning points will be split in half and awarded to both teams.

       

       

      1. • The following can be used as a guideline by umpire but his/her decision will be final.

          

          

          

          

          

          

          

          

         1. • Wind: More than 25 KPH and Gusts more than 35 KPH
            • Rain: 5mm rain consistently for more than 10 minutes
            • Heat: 40 degrees Celsius.
            • Ground Condition: Slipping hazard will be umpire’s judgement considering proper cricket attire.
      • Only registered players who have played at least 40% of the team’s league matches or team’s round matches will be allowed to participate in play off games. For clarity if 40% of team matches result in a number which has decimal points e.g. 3.8 then it will rounded to 4 matches. Anything above or at the 70th percentile will be rounded to the high side. Anything lower then 70th percentile will be rounded to the lower side. E.g. 3.70, 3.71 to 3.99 will be rounded to 4.0 matches. Also 3.01 to 3.69 will be rounded down to 3.0 matches.

   1. • Each team will play 5 overs and finish 5 overs in 15 minutes.
   2. Each team can register 11 players. Any 8 can bat and any 5 can bowl. Only 8 total players will be allowed on the field at any point.
      • Team will forfeit the toss if they don’t have minimum 4 registered players at the facility at the toss time.
      • Team will forfeit the match if they don’t have minimum 4 registered players at starting time of the match as per schedule distributed.
      • There will be a 3 minute change over break between innings.
   3. One bowler is allowed 1 over in a match. In case team started match with minimum 4 registered player. Remaining overs will result in penalty of 6 runs per ball.
      • Batting hits that land in players sitting area/box or the hit goes out of the netting will earn 2 runs. If the balls come out of that area then the ball will be in play.
      • Run up for bowlers will be restricted and a mark will be put in place by the umpire. Bowlers are obligated to follow the mark and cannot extend their run up beyond such mark.
      • Fielding restrictions: Only 2 fielders are allowed on the boundary. Umpire will mark the point from where there can be only 2 fielder between the mark and boundary.
      • Bowling restrictions:

       

       

       

       

      1. Right handed batsman facing bowler: When there is a right handed batsman facing, the bowling can be done from over the wicket (for clarity it will be left side of umpire), regardless of whether the bowler is right handed or left handed.
      2. Left handed batsman facing bowler: When there is a left handed batsman facing, the bowling can be done from around the wicket (for clarity it will be right side of umpire), regardless of whether the bowler is right handed or left handed.
      • Players that have played (bowled, batted, or fielded) in at least three (3) matches are allowed to play the play-offs / semi-final & final.
   • OUTDOOR SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SMALL DURATION (7 DAYS OR LESS) TOURNAMENTS

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

   1. • Each team will play 7 overs and finish 7 overs in 25 minutes.
      • Each team can register 16 players. Only 11 will be allowed on the field to play the match. Substitute fielder will be allowed out of the 16 registered players only.

         1. Any batsman which is out of the field for more than 2 overs will have to bat 2 down in batting order.
            • Any bowler which is out of the field will have to wait for same number of overs before he is allowed to bowl. For example if a bowler stays off the field for 2 overs then when he returns to the game he will have to wait for 2 overs to be bowled before he is allowed to bowl.
      • Team will forfeit the toss if they don’t have minimum 4 registered players at the ground near boundary line at the toss time.
      • Team will forfeit the match if they don’t have minimum 6 registered players at starting time of the match as per schedule distributed.
      • There will be a 5 minute change over break between innings.
      • Bowling limits: One bowler is allowed 2 over maximum, and remaining bowlers have limit of 1 over in a match.

   1. • Each team will play 10 overs and finish 10 overs in 40 minutes.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in Calgary Sports League’s athletic sports program, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:
 
1) The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
2) I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
3) I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
3)  I willingly agree to pay all damages caused intentionally or unintentionally by me to Calgary Sports League or a party, individual, business, or entity advised by Calgary Sports League.
5) I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Calgary Sports League and Genesis Center, their directors, officers, officials, agents, volunteers and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
