The Champions League is a cricket competition between the best cricket club teams in and around Boston area. The CHAMPIONS LEAGUE club is for the cricket lovers who is passionate, and to encourage the young talent in the league and promote the players to the next leagues.
The Champions League (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE) is founded and managed by the following team

The Champions League is scheduled in fall season, commence from 7th Sep’19 to 20th Oct’19. Total 15 teams are participating in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, the teams will be divided into three groups called Group A, Group B and Group C. Each Group will have 5 teams, and each team will play one match with other 4 teams in the same group in the League Matches before entering into Quarter finals. The top 2 teams from each Group will be eligible for the next round of matches based on their points and run rate.
Out of the 6 teams (2 top teams from each group) again the top 2 teams will directly go to semifinals. Here ranking will be based on the Points and Run-rate from League matches.
First Quarter final will be played between Team 3 and Team 4. Winner of this first quarter final match will go to Semifinal. Runner will get another opportunity to qualify for the semifinals (Third Quarter final).
Second quarter final match will happen between Team 5 and Team 6. Loser of the second quarter final match will be out of the tournament.
Third Quarter final match will happen between Runners of First Quarter final and winners of the Second Quarter Final. Winner of the third quarter final will be qualified for the semifinals and Runners of this match will be out of the tournament.
For Semi-Finals – Out of 4 teams, ranking will be as follows,
- Team 1: Top 1 in the ranking after league matches.
- Team 2: Top 2 in the ranking after league matches
- Team 3: Winner of the first quarter Final.
- Team 4: Winner of the Third Quarter Final.
In Semi-Finals, 2 matches will be played where Top 1 team will play with Top 3, and Top 2 will play with Top 4 team
The Final match will decide the Champion League Winners and Runners of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Game rules and regulations are defined as a set of guidelines to keep the spirit of the game in and outside of the ground. The rules and regulations are very important for every team and its players to follow during the match (Note: Anything outside of the match scheduled duration is not treated or considered, and its individual team captain’s responsibility to ensure its team players are respectful to each other to keep the team and game spirit alive)
Committee will be available for every match to support teams and umpires for any unexpected events occurred during the match
- UMPIRE DECISION IS THE FINAL DECISION. NEITHER THE BATSMAN NOR BOWLER SHOULD ARGUE UMPIRE IN CASE OF ANY REVISION TO THE UMPIRE DECISION (ONE PERSON FROM LUEAGUE ORGANIZERS WIL BE IN GROUND FOR THE COMPLETE MATCH). ONLY CAPTAINS SHOULD APPROACH UMPIRE TO DISCUSS IF NEEDED. (NOTE: PLAYER CAN STAY IN GROUND UNTIL THE FINAL DECISION IS MADE)
- No foul language is allowed. If any team member uses uncalled language, then they will be banned for 1 game. If the same happens the 2nd time, then the team will be disqualified and no contribution will be refunded.
- The Captain and Vice-Captain are the only persons allowed to discuss any disputes. No other team members will be entertained on any sort of dispute
- If points tally then run rate will prevail for selection into Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals & Finals
- If a match gets cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances then points will be shared. No matches will be rescheduled. It is captain’s responsibility to ensure they have sufficient players. Minimum 8 players should be in ground before TOSS and if a team doesn’t have sufficient players by then, the team who is ready is by default the winner.
- Given the restrictions on the ground, every match should be completed within the allotted time.
- Quarter Finals: In Case of any unavoidable circumstances due to weather, match start can be delayed but should be completed on the same day. If match can’t be played on the same day then by default team which has better points & Run rate will go to next round as per the schedule (please refer Schedule to understand the format).
- Semifinals: In Case of any unavoidable circumstances due to weather, match start can be delayed but should be completed on the same day. - Finals: The game can be rescheduled to the next available day/Week only in case the whole day is unplayable due to unavoidable circumstances (for e.g. fully raining in the same weekend). The reschedule is only for once beyond which the points and run rate would come into play.
- Every team will provide a list of no more than 25 players (Names are not changeable once the first ball of the tournament is bowled) and no one out of this list will be allowed to play. The players playing the quarters semis and finals should have played at least 1 game in the initial league round. If otherwise, they will not be able to play quarter Finals/semi-finals/finals.
- Every team will be given permissions to Add/Remove players from the list of allowed max 25 players in the league. But, once a player is played 1 match, he can’t be removed from the list of the 25 players for the team. Captain can remove the player who has not played any match and add new player who is not playing in any of the other teams in Champions League. This option will be removed after all league matches are completed. No players can be added or removed once quarter final starts
- One player can only be on one teams list and can play only for 1 team
- Captains will have permission to add or remove players from Monday 9:00 AM till Thursday 8:00 PM. After that team will be locked and open again on Monday 9:00 PM. This option is only for the league matches.
- 20 Over game each side. Max 4 overs per bowler
- For any given game if the team cannot bring 11 out of those 25 then they have to play only with the available players (Not less than 8). Once the specific team’s game starts, no player change will be allowed. All player changes have to be done before bowling the first ball of the individual team’s tournament game. No changes allowed in the team after the first ball is bowled for that team.
- The umpires will be from batting team. One person from the organizing committee will be in ground for the complete match as referee.
- Umpires will be neutral for Quarter finals, Semifinals and finals.
- Organizing Committee will set the ground for match and will remove the same once match is completed.
- Organizing committee will mark the wide, bowling and pitch (Wide is 1 bat from middle stump, batting and bowling crease is 1 bat and a handle length and the same is for the bowling side crease from end of the stump). This pitch is 22 steps and the distance is from stump to stump.
- Player list has to be provided by the captain to the committee prior to the toss.
- MARUTI GOLD is the ball used for the league and its individual team’s responsibility to provide NEW ball for to opposition team to bowl.
- Run for everything except leg by.
- Full toss above waist is a no ball (umpires call) – No warning on this
- Above shoulder is a no ball (umpires call) – 1 warning in the same over if the ball bounces above shoulders and below head and the 2nd similar delivery will be noted as a wide with extra ball and run. If anything above head is called as No Ball without warning.
- If a batsman is outside the crease while attempting to bat and the ball is wide (over waist full toss ball or over the head pitched ball) , then it’s considered as regular ball
- Only over stepping while bowling is free hit.
- Wide – one bat from off stick or anything outside the leg stick where no contact with the batsman of any sort
- No run for leg by and no LBW. No runouts for leg by runs
- Byes – if keeper miss the ball, then the batsman can take runs and run-out is eligible
- Over throw runs are allowed unless the ball hits the batsman during over thrown in which case no over throw is allowed
- For no ball, run out is the only option.
- If a bowler starts the over and bowls 1 legal delivery, then he has to finish – no baby overs unless there is a physical injury. Umpire’s call will be final here
- Mandated Power play for first 3 overs – only 2 fielders outside the inner circle. The 2nd set of 3 overs is batsman choice of power play. The batting team can either avail it anytime from 4th to 13th or will have to be consumed by 15 overs i.e. mandatory power play starts at over 13 in case it’s not taken.
- Batting team has a responsibility to score
- After every over scorer has to callout the score
- It is mandatory to use Circlubs app. Only in case the app is not working, upon confirmation with the main umpire, the team can score in hard copy which needs to be taken a snapshot and sent to the umpire and organizers on the same day immediately after the game. It is umpires responsibility to ensure that team shares the scores immediately. In case people are marking the score using hard copy, the captain is responsible to ensure all details (bowling score including wide, no ball, wicket etc.) and batting score (including how he got out, how many balls he played etc.) has to be included in the scoring.
- All mandatory fields should be filled out. (template will highlight the mandatory fields)
- In case there is a close call on runouts or caught behind, umpires decision is final. If umpire is doubtful about caught behind, then he can check with leg umpire and make a final call. In case it’s a close call and decision is clearly not easy, then benefit is towards the batsman.
- In case of a situation where Umpires are not able to decide, then the organizing committee will come into discussion. This is only in case of a rare situation.
- Game cannot be stopped at any situation. If the game not completed on time, points will be split for the league matches. From quarter finals, team with more points or NRR will be declared winners.
