Participating Captain and Entire team will have to sign and submit a Waiver.
All teams are expected to report at the help desk (or allotted ground) at least 15 minutes prior to their game. Schedule will be strictly followed Teams reporting late will be deducted 1 over for every 5 minutes.
There will be several designated areas for garbage disposal. Water bottles and trash items should be disposed in the designated areas only. Each team captain is responsible to make sure your team members comply
TOURNAMENT FORMAT& RULES
Maximum 7 overs per innings and 8 players are allowed per game.
No player can play for more than one team. Violation may lead to suspension of team.
A player should have played at least 1 of the 4-league games to qualify for the finals. Violation may lead to suspension of the team from the tournament.
Maximum 4 players can field outside (grass areas) the circle at any time during the innings. No Power Plays
All teams get 4 games. Round Robin format.
Each team plays the other, so 4 games and final. Top 2 teams based on points will enter finals. If points are equal then net run rate will be considered, If NRR is also the same then results of their group game will be considered.
1 hour average for each game.
Before each game Captain’s will declare the playing 8 and the 9th man (reserve/sub) to the umpire. During a game only those 9 players will be able to play. In case of an injury, a player can be replaced by the 9th man.
Max 7 overs for each innings and last not out batsman have no chance.
Minimum 4 bowlers have to be used, i.e., one bowler can bowl max of 2 overs
The distance between wickets will be 21 yards.
A wicket keeper is a must and that person has the option of wearing only cricket keeping gloves. Wicket keeper can bowl.
There will be neutral main umpire and batting team required to provide leg umpire for league games. Will have both neutral umpires for Finals and some games.
NO MANKADING. If the batsman is backing up too far, bowler or fielder can appeal and Umpire has the right to dismiss that run if the team repeats after warning.
In an event of dispute, the main umpire’s decision is final. The main umpire has the authority to overrule the leg umpire’s decision at any point of the game.
If there is a dispute of any sorts with any call, Organizers (core committee) call will be final.
Sledging is strictly not allowed. Verbal abuse, use of profanities etc. Directed at players of the opposing team will not be allowed. Under no circumstances should the safety of the players be jeopardized.
Umpire will enter all data to cric club app. Run rates etc. will be calculated by the app and can be seen live.
Tied games will be decided by “Super Over “only for the final. No Super over for league games. In Super over there will be a toss and the winning team can elect to bat or ball. Only 3 batsmen can bat. This should be bowled by one bowler like an over. Batsmen will be like a normal cricket game. Those who get out are out and the next man comes in.
A tied super over will be decided based on total score. If the super over is tied there will be subsequent super overs till tie is broken.
In League stages winning team gets 2 points. 1 point will be shared by two teams if a league game is drawn.
Forfeiture of a game in league stages means that the forfeiting team played seven overs without scoring any run which will reduce their Net Run Rate (NRR) accordingly; it doesn’t affect the NRR of the winning team.
Wide markers that will be used for the calling of wide balls shall be placed at one bat length from the middle stump.
Boundary line will be 165-175 feet from the batsman stumps.
General Rules:
All the traditional cricket rules apply. Some rules that are different are as follows.
No LBWs (leg before wicket) and leg byes. byes and Overthrows apply.
We do not consider leg byes. No runs score on leg byes. So, there are no run outs on those balls too.
If all 3 stumps are down while running, it is required to keep the stump up again and hit with the ball to make it out.
No-Ball Rules No Free HIT:
Ball clearly above the waist on full (Irrespective of spin or pace bowling) is a no ball. Even if batsmen touch the ball above waist on full it’s a no ball.
Ball passing above the head of the batsman after bouncing is a wide ball and will be counted as one-for-the-over.
First Ball passing above shoulder height and below the head of the batsman after bouncing will be warning (if the batsman touches it or not) and second ball will be No ball (No free hit).
Ball passing above shoulder height for batsman and below the head of the batsman after bouncing will be declared OUT if caught and it’s the first ball above shoulder height and below the head of the over because it’s a warning.
Ball passing above shoulder height for batsman and below the head of the batsman after bouncing will be declared NOT OUT if caught and it’s the second or later ball above shoulder height and below the head of the over because it’s a no ball.
Batsman will NOT be declared OUT trying to hit a ball above his head level if it does not bounce as it will be a no ball.
Overstepping by the bowler.
Back foot of the bowler crossing the side crease. Side crease will be drawn and the baller has to be within the limits.
Fielders standing outside the circle exceeds max allowed (despite 1 umpire warning)
Fielder substituted during the game without notifying the umpire.
Only ways out for a no ball are run out/hitting ball twice /obstructing the fielder. Any runs scored will be added to the 1 run given for no ball.
For a No Ball 1 run, 1 extra ball, no out, and can score more runs if it gets hit.
Wide ball rules are normal.
There should not be more than 4 on the grass area.
Umpire can decide and call of the game if there is rain.
Any byes taken will be added to the 1 run given for wide ball.
Scoring:
If the ball goes over the straight boundary directly, 6 runs will be given to the batsman. If the ball rolls to the boundary line, 4 runs will be given to the batsman. On the line should favor batsman
If the ball goes over the fence on the off side, leg side or behind the wicket keeper, 1 run will be declared and the batsmen will change. If the ball rolls and goes outside the fence, 1 run will be declared and the batsmen will change [dugout entrance].
If the ball hits the side/back fence and stays in the field, the batsman has to run between the wickets to make runs.
If the ball gets stuck in the fence, then 1 runs is declared and the batsmen will change.
If the ball hits/touches the fielder before rolling outside the fence, then batsman must run between the wickets to make runs.
Rules related to catch:
Batsman is out if a catch is taken by the fielder who is in contact with the fence. However, the ball should not be in direct contact with the fence during the catch.
Batsman is not out if the fielder takes a catch off the bounce from the side fence.
Batsman is NOT OUT if the catch is taken beyond the fence/field (not boundary limits).
When a fielder takes the catch near boundary line he should stop there until umpire gives confirmation on decision. Umpire will take a look and gives his final decision. Failing that and if umpire after review feels doubtful he may go with the benefit of doubt for BATSMAN.
Rules related to substitutions:
A fielder can be substituted during the game by notifying the umpire.
If a fielder leaves the field for the last 2 overs in the innings, he will not be allowed to bat for the first 2 overs.
A batsman can be substituted at any time of the play with another not out batsman. There is no rule to force the retired batsman to come only at the end of the innings.
If a bowler walks out of the field for 1 over, the bowler needs to stay on the field for at least 1 over before bowling the next over.
Help runners are not normally permitted. Again, it’s not the opposition captain, but the main Umpire who has the right to grant a help runner based on the situation.
