CAP Premier League 2018

It is already time to start thinking about Cricket, forming teams and deciding who to play for. Let me start by thanking you all for making the last year tournament a grand success. CAP management is very excited to announce that we are starting registrations for the 2018 CAP Premier League.

Also CAP is happy to inform that CAP has acquired the Mossville cricket ground as well this year and look forward for accommodating more practice sessions and a fun filled cricket season.

GENERAL RULES:

REPORTING SCORE SHEETS: Captains are responsible for updating the scores on the website. We recommend using the app for completeness in scoring. CAP requests all the captains to take responsibility in completing the score sheets with clear and complete information within 2 weeks from the completion of the match. Better score reporting will help the committee to track the top performers for recognition and a timely update on the championship statistics. Captains are requested to send a scanned or digital photograph of the completed score sheets to the CAP email (cappeoria1@gmail.com) as well (for record keeping).

COMMUNICATION: CAP committee member will respond to the email communications within 24 hours. No phone calls regarding cricket during work hours please.

REGARDING LOCKING THE GROUND GATE: Captains of the teams playing in the last slot of the day are responsible for locking the gate. It is our ground and we all have to take responsibility in protecting it. We all did great job last year with very few exceptions. Let’s continue to protect our ground.

Also please forward this email to any cricket enthusiasts that you might feel will be interested in participating in the tournament.

RULE ADDITIONS:

  • Free Hit: We would be including the free-hit rule this year. All no balls will result in a free hit. The batsman can be ruled out only by run-out, handling the ball, hitting the ball twice intentionally and obstructing the field. All other dismissal modes do not apply.
(No Ball: If the bowler delivers the ball without some part of his front foot (either grounded or raised) behind the popping crease, or if his back foot does not 'land within and not touching the return crease', this delivery is ruled a no ball)

  • Minimum 3 Games: Any player of a team has to play a minimum of 3 games before playing in the semi-final or final games. It is the opponent captain’s responsibility to check this information before their games and can raise any objections before the start of their game.
  • Mandatory Jerseys: Team jerseys are mandatory for each team. This is done in effort to look more professional and display a positive image for the sport.
  • 5 bowlers: Each bowler can bowl a max of 3 overs/match except one bowler who can bowl 4 overs during the first round of the league (16 over game). During the portion of the league where the games would be 20 overs, each bowler can bowl a max of 4 overs.
  • Profile picture: Moving forward each player needs to have a profile picture uploaded on their profile in order to be able to play in the league. This is to help prevent any player misrepresentations complains from any team.
  • Ground Utilization: Each team would have to play certain number of games between the two CAP grounds. This will be communicated in the schedule during the tournament.
  • Reschedule Request: A team can request up to 3 reschedules in the tournament (Includes mutually agreed upon reschedules – counts towards the team requesting it).
  • Rule Updates: Late show, rained out and power play rules updated on CAP rule book.

PS: If you are no longer captaining your team this year, please forward this communication to the appropriate person representing your team. I would also encourage you to forward this email to any additional people we might have missed.

Regards,
CAP Management
