The 2016 U-17 Canada Cup competition will be hosted in Toronto from the July 4 to the July 8th, 2016 at the Centennial Park Cricket Facilities and Iceland Cricket Ground in Mississauga. The U17 tournament is organised on a national basis every two years by Cricket Canada and the designated hosting province. This year Cricket Council of Ontario is proud to be the host of this competition in collaboration with CCO’s Junior Programs and Junior Cricket Development in Ontario.
This National tournament provides a very high competitive opportunity for all highly skilled players to participate in a limited-overs competition (50 overs per team) and, in particular, provides the players with the opportunity of playing against their piers from the other provinces.
The Ontario Junior Team captured the winners crown in the 2014 competition which serves as high motivation to this year’s two (2) Ontario U17 Teams in their preparation to defend the title. And possibly repeats as champions.
On July 7th, 2016 – both Ontario teams will be in action. We are requesting / encouraging all cricket enthusiasts to make this a must attend event to support as well as enjoy the game – your presence will demonstrate your support for Junior Cricket in Canada and Ontario.
