We are pleased to welcome the participating teams to the Dominoz Premier League Season 2 (DPL).

1.0   Tournament Highlights

1.     Tournament will commence on September 2nd, 2022.
2.     All matches will be executed on Friday morning
3.     Matches will be executed in the Grounds, located various parts of Doha.
4.     Participation of 12 Teams in 2 Pools. 1 pool consists of 6 teams where each team will get a chance to play 5 League matches. Top 4 teams from the respective pools to qualify for Quarter final.  
5.     Prize details are as follows,

    Champion - QAR. 1001/- + Trophy    Runner-Up – QAR. 501/- + Trophy
Trophies for Man of the Match Final, Man of the Series, Best bowler of the tournament, Best Batter of the tournament & Best wicket keeper of the tournament.
Other trophies and cash prize will be announced later.

2.0   Registration procedure

1.     Participating Team must pay QAR. 200/- as the registration fee no later than 30 Aug 2022.
2.     Participating Team must provide a Maximum 20 Players name list (Template enclosed) with clear photo by 1st Sep 2022 and however 11 players only will be playing in a match. NO addition/changing of players allowed after 1 Sep 2022.
3.     All the given players will be registered in CricClubs App under respective teams by 1st Sep 2022. Captain/coordinator must check their team and confirm. If there are any changes, to be notified to the committee. All player profiles must be updated with a photo, players without photo will be removed by 2nd Sep 2022.
4.     Please note that once a team member has been named as part of a team, he will NOT be allowed to play for another team in our league. If any discrepancy is found at any stage of the game, that member will be disqualified as per tournament committee decision.
5.     All the matches will be played as per the schedule which will be published in advance.
6.     Scoring will be done in CricClubs app by batting team (also arrange for manual scoring in case the app is not functioning). Teams must select their playing 11 before the toss.
7.     Points will be distributed as per CricClubs APP & team standing will be based on points & Net Run Rate.

 

3.0 Rules & Regulation

1. Match will start at 5:15 AM on Friday morning as per the published schedule and respective teams must be presented on the ground 15 minutes before their match scheduled time. The toss should be done 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
2. Any team delays after match schedule time will have 1 over deduction for each 10 minutes delay. If the team is not present within 30 minutes of the match schedule time, the available team captain can inform the committee of a walkover if required.
3. The list of playing 11 must be analyzed before the toss by both teams’ captains. Also, the playing 11 must be shared in whatsapp to the opposite team captain before the match.
4. Minimum 8 players from each team must be available at the ground to do the toss and the remaining players must arrive within 30 minutes of the match starting time. If balance players fail to arrive within 30 minutes, then the team must play with available players. Substitutes (from the registered players' list) can be allowed for the balance players throughout the match and won’t be allowed to bat or ball.
5. The ground will be decided by the tournament committee & team with the ground, please don’t expect every match at home ground. Committee will provide home matches as much as possible and ground allocation will be fully at committee discretion.
6. Team with the ground, please make sure your ground will be available throughout the tournament. Even if your team is not qualified for Knockout, please cooperate with the committee to provide your ground until final based on the request from the committee.
7. Each innings will be of 20 Overs which has to be bowled by a minimum of 5 Bowlers. 5 Bowlers can bowl a maximum of 4 Overs. There are no restrictions on the number of Bowlers.
8. Only Guru Laser Ball to be used in the tournament in all stages.
9. Teams bring the stumps to execute the game.
10.  While batting when a batsman hits the ball and gets caught in the field and if the ball is found to be burst, this ball will be considered a DEAD BALL. However, if the burst ball crosses the boundary line (six or four) will be considered as run.
11. Any registered player to qualify for the knockout game must have played at least 1 league match. However, any player who plays for any other morning league in Qatar must play a minimum of 3 matches in the league stage to qualify for Knockout matches.
12. The umpire decision will be final and can’t be challenged or argued under any circumstances.
13.  Sri Lankan/single-piece bats are not allowed in this tournament. This will be the responsibility of the fielding captain and should inform the tournament committee immediately if there are any such circumstances that occur during the tournament and the runs scored by these bats will be deducted from the team total.
14.  Any player cannot leave the ground after finishing the first innings or in-between the match to play another match at the same time. If a player is found to do so & notified by the opponent team with evidence, then the winning point will be given to the opponent team & that player will be suspended for the next two matches.
15. The international limited over cricket rules apply except as varied hereunder or advised by Tournament committee,
    1. No Ball and Wide Ball will not be considered as legal delivery and will cost an extra run. However, there will be NO free hits in this tournament until Semi-Final but free hit available in the final. If the ball pitches outside the pitch, it will be called a WIDE.
    2. One bouncer will be allowed in an over and more than a bouncer in the same over will be called NO Ball. Any ball bowled above the shoulder of the Batsman will be known as a bouncer and if it is above the head of the Batsman will be called WIDE and 1st bounce warning.
    3. The wicketkeeper will be allowed to ball any time after informing the leg umpire.
    4. There is no LBW under any circumstances.
    5. Maximum 5 fielders will be allowed leg side and including bowler 6 fielders can be on the leg side.
    6. Power Play: 

• The first 4 Overs and 14th & 15th overs will be power play.
• Maximum three fielders will be allowed to field outside the 30-yard circle during the power play.
• After power play a minimum of 3 fielders must field within the 30-yard circle. If there is any over deduction that will be deducted from the power play.
• In case a team forgot to obtain their power plays of 14th & 15th over will not be able to claim later.
• If both teams agree to play all the power play overs from 1-6 overs of each innings can also be done.
• Each innings of 20 Overs shall have an allotted time of 90 minutes. Slow over-rates may induce penalties solely at the discretion of the tournament committee.
  1. Until the Semi-final, umpiring will be from the playing team itself and make sure it is in a professional way. The decisions of the umpires would be final and binding. If the opponent captain requested, please cooperate to change the umpire. The on-field disputes would not be taken out of the ground or to the organizing committee.
  2. It is the umpires' responsibility to make sure of the guard of the bowler before the start of the over. If the bowler changes the guard in between the over, then he must inform the umpire. If he fails to do so, it will be called No Ball. The same will be applicable for the keeper when he moves up to the sticks or away during an over must notify the leg umpire and if he fails to do so will be called NO ball.
  3. If the bowler delivers any illegal delivery (Chucking or underarm ball) can be called No Ball and a warning is to be given to the bowler. If the bowler delivers a second beamer in an over will disqualify the bowler to bowl further in the match.
  4. If a batsman can take a runner with the approval of the fielding captain and the same must be informed to the umpires.
  5. Any fielder can be substituted by a player from the registered team list (a maximum of 3 substitutes will be allowed). The substitute will not be allowed to bat or bowl. The umpire should be notified of a fielder change, in normal cases Substitutes can play only after power play over & before ending the innings all the playing 11 must be fielding. This will not be applicable as a substitute for any injured player.
  6. If a batsman retires due to injury, he may resume his innings after the next wicket has fallen. However, the injured player should inform the Umpire and the opposition captain before retiring hurt. Retirement due to any other cause couldn’t be allowed to bat after.
  7. In case the scores are level at the end of any game, winning will be decided by super over. If the first Super Over also ties, then again Super Over will be executed until it decides the winner.
  8. The Tournament Management reserves the right to change or modify the rules as deemed appropriate before or during the match. Any such decisions will be communicated to each team captain.
  9. If a non-striker moves out of the crease before bowler completes the delivery can make him run out even without warning.
  10. When a batter is out caught, the new batter shall come in at the striker's end to face the next delivery of the over, unless it is the end of an over.

 

4.0 Disciplinary action:

During the tournament all participants are expected to behave professionally and should avoid abusive language/gestures/question umpires’ decisions. The participants must also remember to treat other players with respect as well as have fun. Any misbehavior by a Player/Team during the tournament will be warned at first sight and will be removed from the tournament on repetition. Captain will always be responsible to maintain fair play. No team will be allowed to leave the ground without completing the match. If such circumstances arise, it has to be informed to the committee immediately. Committee will inquire the issue and take a decision accordingly.
 

5.0 Communication:

All communication except during the match will be through the dedicated Tournament WhatsApp group (Team captain and one more representative for each team can be added to the WhatsApp group). All communication during the match will be in person with the Team Captain only and others will not be entertained for any communication. Any dispute during the match must be communicated to the committee by writing a short message and can be explained in detail through phone call if required.
 

6.0 Injuries or death of any player during the match will not be covered by any insurance or other means. The team will be fully responsible for such cases.
