On a beautiful evening in the city of Toronto, ECA players and fans witness a classic cricket affair between newcomer to the league Riva Bank C C and the defending Champions United C.C for the ECA T20 Championship. In what many would describe as a safe game played by both team ending in a tame manner in favour of Riva Bank. After the dismissal of league leading run getter Durand Soraine for 19 of 12 balls , it took the partnership of 44 between Kurt Ramdass and Manav Patel and the power hitting of Emile Rajah 27 of14 balls to post a respectful total of 135 run . In United turn at the crease, only the batting of Zane Edwards 36 of 25 balls and Nicolas Ali 23 of 21 balls put up any resistance to the bowling of Riva Banks in a chase that ended on 101 for 8 of 20 overs. It was a disappointing end for United who's batting lineup featured the Nauth brothers and Nicolas Manohar , strong batter for this team all year. However , there is always next season for United , but yesterday belongs to Riva Bank. Congratulation!! |
