Raiders’ Brutal Assault on Defending Champions:

Since last season the only time where I felt like sitting on a hot seat is now, as I took some time to start this post. It took almost a year for these 2 teams to meet in FCA again. Right from the beginning of the season few of them might have expected this to be a high voltage match as 22 were on a winning streak since last season and I bet considering new changes in Raiders, money would have been on 22 balls. For the first time FCA is conducting a match on Turf wicket and the first match have been scheduled between these 2 teams. It started off this way, winning the toss Raiders elected to bowl considering the strong batting order of 22. That way it would be better to chase a total in mind. Raiders were off with an excellent start picking up Qadeer on the very first ball by Nazzy. It became hard for 22 batsmen to read the pitch quickly as it was too fast and to the Raiders bowling unit Nazzy, Faisal, Joy and Dinesh exploited the opportunity by generating the max pace with proper line and length. After getting Hareesh the whole responsibility fell on Rakesh and Sakthi who were the key pillars of defending champion’s success since last tournament. This time it wasn't enough as Faisal and Dinesh bowled an extra ordinary bowls getting their wicket one with strategy and other with pace. Wicket keeper plays a crucial role on fast pitches and this time it was Raiders Fire Cracker aka puppy who stood as wall behind stumps taking 4 catches and 1 run out supporting the bowlers. Overall 22 balls had to give up for just 53 runs despite some heroic performance by Mahesh. Nazy was unplayable as they scored only 1 run of the bat against him and the rest were wides. Rajesh was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets. In reply Sailesh who worked hard to get back in form this season gave a good start with 4 in first over. Vivek got his prey by taking Indra bowled on first ball. However it wasn't enough for them as Sailesh went belligerent on the rest of the bowlers and tore apart their attack. At the end a 6 and 4 by Faisal made sure Raiders won in just 6 overs.  Raiders stayed unbeaten and it is a long way to go for 22 as this is just their second match.

Kaatans win despite Sunil‘s valiant Effort:

Outsiders who were real good with bowl in this tournament choose to bowl after winning the toss; everything went as per their plan until some real good performance by Raj and Divyesh who scored 35 and 58 runs making sure Kaatans have a defending score of 125 runs. Outsiders bowling unit started off with good attack but lost their way as Raj and Divyesh went wild on them scoring runs all over the ground. Except Malli and Sreedhar who still continued to maintain their form in this tournament rest were expensive. In reply Outsiders had a brisk start until they lost first wicket in form of Sandeep. All big guns went for less score leaving Ramu no scope except to stop wickets on one end tying him up to play under pressure. Outsiders lost their hope until Sunil came into crease, though he started off slow later on he went for some real big shots scoring 30 runs in just 20 balls giving some hope to Outsiders but it wasn't that long as Alok took his wicket making sure his team had a comfortable win. Outsiders might have been going through some tough luck but I guess it’s just a matter of one game for their big guns to explode which will make opposition clueless on other hand by default Kaatans are well on their way of securing their berth in playoffs.

Nandu’s Six Secures Dramatic Win Against Warriors XI

Challengers in spite of new team are doing real good this season, winning toss Challengers elected to bowl which kind off turned against them as Warriors 11 openers Senthil and Ayan gave a good start scoring 18 and 25 runs each. However after Senthil wicket the gates has been opened for Challengers until Partha stood up scoring 25 runs securing 95 runs total for their team to defend. Arun Kumar was the man of hour to speak about as he took 4 wickets in 4 overs, overall Dinesh, Arun M, Rahul and Venkateshwararao shared wickets among themselves restricting warriors 11. Warriors 11 are one of the toughest team with strong bowling line up, as they made Challengers sweat for chasing 95 runs. Arun M and Venkateshwararao were only 2 who stood up for this chase but it could have gone differently if not for Nandu’s penultimate six securing a win for Challengers. This was an interesting match to start with last weekend as it would have gone either way.

Catch Drops and Runouts costs Jax Titans their win against Blues:

Even before realizing that we won the morning match, I was asked to Umpire this match in the afternoon. One should praise the Titans captain’s guts asking Blues to bat first after winning the toss. I have observed many matches till date and I would say that Jax Titans had the best bowling discipline as they bowled 20 overs in 1 hour with just 6 extras. It was Blues captain Bhagwant who scored 50 along with Bharath who scored 48 runs giving the right start but Blues middle order fumbled until Agastya came in to got some quick runs. At the end Blues were able to score 159 runs in 20 overs. I should say Jax Titans did good in spite of many catch drops they restricted unstoppable blues to 159 runs. In reply Jax Titans got a good start until they gave away their wickets in form of silly run outs. All the batsmen who were inform has to go back to pavilion, though Jignesh and Rajesh scored 30 and 10 runs each pushing the score to 74 runs. At the end Jax titans has to wrap up for 74 runs with 5 run outs. Removing Catches and Run outs it would have been an interesting encounter. Blues bowling unit Bhagwant, Deep, Ramesh, Praneeth and Hemanth bowled on right lengths restricting Jax Titans for less score.

Lions Falls short in search of Runs Galore:

For me this was a much awaited match as many players from my team is playing for Lions this season. No surprise when Ravi won the toss and elects to bowl in their first encounter as he is always aggressive when it comes to cricket. On other hand Jaguars wasn't that worried as they have Ram K who can attack the bowlers in a horrid way. Ram started off slow but went crazy on bowlers scoring 32 runs. It was Ram and Kalyan who stood up against Lions bowling attack securing 110 runs to defend. Amit and Prasad secured 3 wickets each leaving Ravi 1 and Praful 2 wickets. In reply Lions had a good start until Ravi got out for 10 runs, it was Prasad who took the responsibility of their team and batted sensibly scoring 30 runs taking away the match until Satish B came into bowling attack with an outstanding catch by Kalyan the keeper.. In spite of some help from Srikar it was Sai who took the on the responsibility on his shoulders but Satish and Ram K made sure they kept him at one end while taking wickets at other end. It was crucial that both of them took 2 wickets in each over turning the phase of match towards Jaguars along with another crucial support by Ram S who made sure that his economy is less than his overs bowled. At the end Lions had to surrender against Jaguars. Though it might a loss but Lions started off on a good note as a new team no surprise if we can see this team do well here after.

Dangerous Eagles Preyed on Spartans:
Am sure by this time you all might lose interest in reading this post as we had 9match this past weekend, to wrap it quick Eagles outplayed Spartans. Eagles looks as a really good unit and they are also showing that in the performance and are getting stronger with each match they play. Spartans scored 91 with Qasim being the highest scorer. Chasing Eagles got off to a rockey start losing the top order quick but it was veteran Ravi and Raj who held it together and destroyed Spartsans bowling. They chased the score in just 11th over. Spartans as a new team are still trying to adjust to the tournament and pitch, having decent bowling line up Spartans with more practice can be a very good team. Eagles bowling unit Rajendra, Silus, Jackson, Binil, Akhil made sure they restrict Spartans to 91 runs and in reply it was Ravi and Raj who played a good knock making it look like walking in the park. Overall Spartans are still in search of their first win.

RP Rockers Outplayed Gladiators:
RP Rockers were quick to judge the turf pitch at St Mary’s as they chose bowling when they won the toss. Gladiators were able to manage only 56 runs with Rajaraman Ramadoss scoring best with 14 runs. Vamshi, Karunakar and Antony were rewarded with 3 wickets each for their disciplined bowling. In reply Anil was the player who took over the match by securing second win for their team in spite of some good bowling attack by Ratna and Suresh. Gladiators definitely will bounce back strong as they are looking good right from the start of this season.

Gigantic Strikers secures first win:

Batting first Strikers were at one point in bad shape loosing 7 wickets for just 77 runs in spite of some solid innings played by Anand T and Sudhakar. If someone ask me never assume that you have the game until you take the 10th wicket when playing against Strikers. Strikers have a gift of having 11 match winning players, at a given point any one from that 11 is enough to take away the game. So the minute Kings taught they got the wheel off the bus it was Sumit who was controlling the driver by making sure Strikers have enough score of 147 runs on board. In reply Kings had total control over the chase until 10th over as their openers Kalyan and Ravi scored 25 and 15 runs each but they lost their way after break losing their big guns and wrapping up for 101 runs. It was Sreekanth Y and Samar who took away the game picking up wickets leaving Kings nowhere with some good support from Anand T and Rajeev. On other hand Ramakrishna, Thyagu and Harish shared 2 wickets each but couldn't restrict strikers for less score.
