Thrilling Match End up in a Dramatic Tie:
As the entire subcontinent was watching Ind vs Pak, I woke up to do the same. While watching the game I had to switch my laptop on for our local match between 22 and RBCC. 22 Balls won the toss and elected to bowl which kind of made me think for a second that Rakesh might have followed our Indian Skipper who elected to bowl but later realized that our FCA match started at 9.00am EST and our International match started at 10.00am EST. RBCC got to an abysmal start and lost some quick wickets leaving the pressure on middle order. Chandra and Arun scored 34 and 20 runs each stretching RBCC’s total to 115 runs. San Jose being a high scoring pitch I was under the impression that Twenty Two with their batting line up might chase this. I was kind of caught up with Ind vs Pak match but when I had turned back to this match, I was in shock, RBCC bowlers managed to take 6 wickets in span of just 20 runs which includes their top and middle order. It was Raghav who took the pressure scoring some quick runs but couldn’t continue as he has to walk away giving catch to Vijay P in Shiva’s bowling. Then came in Mahesh coming at number 9 when their team needed almost run a ball and being a crucial match for them as to not slim their chances of getting into next round, this guy made a difference by scoring 13 runs in 12 balls with 2 4’s bringing the match to a situation where it came down to one ball one run with 1 wicket. It was bowling team who held their nerves. Mahesh was bowled!!! And both teams end up sharing points. Out of curiosity I called Mahesh and learned that he felt the same way as Misbah in 2007 world cup finals which made me realize the passions and commitment that we all play cricket in Jacksonville. Love this game!!!!!

Southside Demolish Invaders:

Southside were searching for their first win, so were Invaders. I checked the score it was Invaders who won the toss and elected to bat losing their openers to Sudhir. It was Rajesh and Girish who helped Invaders put a decent total of 111 Runs. Rajesh scored a brilliant 53 and Girish chipped in with 30. In reply Southside came to the crease with one and only one intention, to destroy Invaders. Sanjay, Bharath and Amit bombarded Invaders bowling attack scoring 8 6’s and 9 4’s wrapping up the game in just 10.3 overs. Bharath K was the man of the match for his all-round performance. What a way to win the cricket game. Convincing and entertaining.

Kaatans outplays Chillers in All Departments:

It was my waivers day again, need to get waivers signed by Chillers and Warriors 11. This time I haven’t checked anything until I was in ground, it was Faisal and I who were at the ground and realized that Chillers were put in to bat on their first outing. Their top order batsmen Sridhar, Murli and Arun helped them to put a target of 96 runs with 23, 15 and 30 runs contribution respectively. Rest of the team has to surrender to Kaatans intense bowling.Aakash was the pick of the bowlers. Kaatans had a slow start, the scored 6 runs in 4 overs. This is where I enter and suddenly the scoring rate improves, Rajababu takes the Chillers bowling attack to an outing, hitting them all over the park. I might be the lucky charm for Kaatans as there is something between me, Kaatans and Blues whenever I show up in ground they perform well, just kidding. A player from Chillers got injured during the game and Chillers ended up with 10 players on the field. Things were not getting better as Rajababu (71 runs) started accelerating and Kaatans were able to chase down in 16.1 over.  I would say it was a sensible innings scoring singles and rotating the score. Followed by an anchoring innings by Vinayak and Chandra. With this Kaatans will be leading the chart in Group B.

 Jax Titans crumble:

Leaving Sanjose was on my way to Victory Park to witness another epic NFCL final. I was following the match online as Warriors 11 winning the toss elected to bowl, and they made a good decision as Balaji stripped down Titans wickets like a deck of cards, bowling 4 overs giving 9 runs taking 5 wickets followed by others taking 1 each. Jax Titans were able to post meager 52 runs on the board. In reply Liberton who scored a sensible 30 took his team towards a comfortable win. Considering this I am really concerned about the next team facing Jax titans, how hard they are going to bounce back.
