Strikers in yet Another Thriller

Strikers are making a habit of providing some great entertainment when they are playing a match and I am lucky to be at the ground when they play a match. This time they face Jaguars. Jaguars are rebuilding their team and consists of many new faces. Strikers on the other hand came down all guns blazing to better their run rate by a comfortable win. Little did they knew that Jaguars had other intentions. Scoring a total of 100 was a rarity in FCA but now scoring 150 is like a walk in the park when Strikers are batting.
Winning the toss Strikers has decided to bat first, they got to a rocket start with Ravi K (38) and Bhargav (61) hitting the ball all over the park crushing Jaguars bowling attack. Kotesh and Ravi R finished strong posting a total of 172 runs on board.
In reply Jaguars after losing first wicket found the duo Ram S and Hari M on crease. They came with only one intention, to destroy the bowling attack of Strikers. Ram scored a quick 23 before he got out by Samar. After the departure of Ram S, Hari took the mantel and all of sudden it started raining with 6's and 4's, yes it is Hari scoring 50 runs in just 20 balls. Jaguars reached 100 in just 10th over. Strikers were in shock. Hari chipped one to the covers protected by Samar. He took one of the amazing catches that I have ever seen. Strikers were breathing a sigh of relief as Sumit took 2 quick wickets. Ravi R squeezed in 4 overs giving just 12 runs and a wicket. As I said earlier it’s not over till it’s over. Niranjan to the rescue. He scored 34 runs in just 24 balls brought back the hope for Jaguars leaving 4 runs to win from 2 balls. Captain Praveen bowling the last over. The start of the over was not good as 17 was required of the last over. First 4 balls went for 12 runs. I think then he bowled the best two dot balls for their team as Niranjan couldn’t connect ending in jaguars falling short by just 4 runs. Being underdog, Jaguars gave chills to Strikers in this close game. With such an energetic team Jaguars will be considered as one of the contender for knock out stage and on other side Strikers will be re grouping on their bowling attack for their last must win game against Royals as their run rate is in disarray..

Chillers Power through Invaders

It wasn't that long after breathing a sigh of relief from waivers that I have been asked to represent FCA for umpiring this match. Temperature dropping sharply, cloudy sky and unpredictable showers always make either a romantic or lazy day. Winning the toss Invaders have decided to bat first looking at the pitch conditions it was dry enough to do so. Alok got a decent start for Invaders with Rajesh giving handy support. Few quick wickets left them in state of worry and then Girish took the reins and helped them to a total of 92 runs in 20 overs where others has become prey for Chillers bowling attack. Murali, Arun, Ragu, Selvin and Lakshmikanth ripped off the batting line up with their mindful tactics. Chasing 92 Murali and Ganesh gave a blasting start to Chillers until Aditya took a stunning catch leaving Murali in shock. Invaders took there bowling attack to different level however they couldn't stop Arun whos scored a well-deserved 50. Chillers chased down the total comfortably in 17th over. Invaders are in a knock out state as they have to win the rest of the games to move to the next round. They definitely has that rhythm to bounce back strong.

Googlies got their first win in style

Googlies a good team had to forfeit their last match due to shortage of plyers. They had a full team facing RBCC. Winning toss they elected to bowl. Peter P took three early wickets sending back RBCC top order batsmen for low scores. He ended up with 20 runs bowling 4 overs taking 3 wickets. Chandra (35) and Shiva (22) help RBCC to a decent total of 103 runs. In googlies had a quick start by Dhaval.  UP surprised Googlies with his slow pace taking 3 top order wickets leaving Googlies in big trouble until Peter who saved the day by contributing crucial 36 runs. With support from Adil Googlies chased the total in 16 overs. The hopes of RBCC moving to the next round are very slim, but there could be many possibilities you never know. Googlies are still alive and have a good chance if they win their next two game.
