Hello FCA Members, It takes a strong toll on our mind making such decisions and as committee we take no joy in writing these things on our website or facebook page. We represent each and every team and we want to make sure that there is no chance or even a hint of partiality in doing that. Though we might be doing voluntary work but we have been chosen to represent almost 500 people in this organization. Last weekend we have witnessed an incident which we haven’t even dreamt of being in that incident. We as committee spends almost 30 to 40 hours a week in making sure that you guys play games without any interference over weekend. We make sure your schedule wont collide with NFCL, we help in finding alternative umpires if needed, we come to ground even if we feel that there is a slight chance of rain, we plan events for teams, we always think of what missing for teams which can be used and help them on field, we do promotions on facebook and websites for each game played, we always watch out for other leagues to get more ideas on how to take this league to next level. All we ask in return as a favor is to complete matches with good spirit and be strong/unite as one team under FCA. And infact we do enjoy a healthy competition or healthy exchange of words on field to keep it exciting assuming that you guys know the limit where to stop.
If we continue to do the same our league will go backwards infact back to our grass pitches as such incidents will raise the risk of losing our ground and all the hard work which went into it from different committees over a period of time. The benefits we are seeing is just not done overnight, it’s the hard work put into by many people as part of different committees. And we as 2018 committee will not allow this to happen.
We have made some tough calls as committee and this was taken only in the best interest of Florida Cricket Association future. For match between 22 balls vs Strikers we have banned 1 player for 2 matches, 4 players for 1 matches and 1 player has been given yellow card. Players list who got ban will be given to captains in captains group. Decision was made based on Umpires Report and there was no partiality given to any team. If your opposite team is provoking please talk to umpires and if umpires couldn’t control let them call the committee but please try your best in resolving the issue. This is our league and each and every one of us have a role to play by avoiding any incidents that will lead to an argument on field.
Based on our decision initially 22 balls team has raised few concerns which has been sorted out by Board with their one on one discussion.
Considering this event as FCA committee we are implementing some new mandatory rules which will be shared next week with captains and coordinators which will be followed effective immediately.
Any concerns or further clarifications on this please reach out to us @ jaxfca.cricket@gmail.com. Thanks, FCA EC2018
