FCA Spring 2016 Finals Royals to face 22:

FCA Spring 2016 is finally here. At the start of the tournament if you ask anyone who would be in the finals very few might have predicted it will be Royals vs 22. Royals are doing a comeback after taking hiatus from cricket for some time now and 22 is only in their second tournament. Royals led by Suresh has been to many finals in FCA, but they are yet to taste a win. They have succeeded in implementing their strategies throughout the tournament and have the capability this time to seal the deal. One should not consider 22 as a lesser of a team. 22 Balls had a bumpy ride at the start of the tournament but became steadier in the later part of this season. “Hard work always pays off”, this saying is made true by 22 as I have seen their relentless practice and commitment towards the game. I am going to take the front row seat for this game and would be surprised if this ends in a great entertainer.

Spotlight:

Royals:
Royals have a destructive opening pair of Bala and Asim. Bala is the highest run scorer for Royals and scored a 50 coming into finals against Raiders. His performance will be crucial for Royals success. This is followed by the reliability of Pinak and Senthil who can rotate the strike and go for the biggies when needed. Royals have lean bowling attack through the entire tournament. Sushil Sharma the front line pacer is also the leading wicket taker for the team. Pinak, Milan, Faisal A, Senthil and Suresh have done very well so far in the tournament.

22:
22 balls their opening pair Ali and Qadeer became almost in penetrable as they are giving at least a decent start throughout this season. Captain Rakesh is leading from the front. He is the best batsman in the team and is in ultimate form. His 50 against Striker in semis is what brought them to finals and will hold the key to 22’s batting. Sakthivel will be a catalyst in winning the game. One area that I would rank 22 slightly better than Royals is fielding. Before you take your guns out here is what it is, 22 is mostly very young players in their early to mid-20’s which makes them fresh and fast. Mahesh and Varshit has raised the bar in terms of fielding standards.

Finals are on Saturday 21st and is set to start at 10:30 AM. I hope most of us will be there to cheer and most importantly celebrate cricket. This had been on roller coaster of a tournament and hope the ride continues.

Till next time
For FCA
Prem.
