The Farman's Friendship Trophy is a Cricket Championship Tournament usually contested every year by teams representing different cricket clubs in Kattankudy. The Farman’s Friendship Trophy was hosted by Rabbaniyyah Sports Club in the memorial of our late member and our beloved brother Farman Faas. There have been few seasons of the Championship Trophy which took place at Victory Green, Kattankudy since 2011. Last year it was hosted on 09th August 2020 to 16th August 2020. The tournament was 11 players per side competition and 10 overs per innings. Sixteen teams participated in this tournament last year. In the beginning we managed to do the event with the small funding from Club. But the idea for the competition got huge responses from the great clubs and good Cricketers. Now it became more than cricket and it’s a festival now. It’s celebrated by the whole people and cricket fans in this region. There were so many Cricket Tournaments conducted by different Sports Clubs here before. But the Fans commented that they have never seen a cricket festival like this in this region especially in Eastern Province. Players were enjoying their moments playing for this Tournament and celebrating with their audience. The reason behind this huge success was only because of the hard working crew and tournament managing committee that working from the proper guidance. We are hoping to add new features for the upcoming years and we’ve made few changes so far. |
