Congratulations Islamabad United - PGL 2018 ChampionsCongrats to a brilliant victory. Well deserved.According to details, Islamabad United won the match with nine wickets in hand. Lahore Qalanders after winning the toss decided to bat first, and set 76-run target for Islamabad. Islamabad United chased the target in 5th over with the loss of only one wickets. Mahtab’s 23 on just 8 balls, Sultan 25 on just 12 balls even in the enjury & Ahmad quick 20 helped Islamabad United to a nine-wicket win over Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Guardians League final on Saturday. Lahore Qalandars had earlier struggled to 75/4 in after captain Dr.Naeem Mahmood won the toss and opted to bat first but their star batsman in the tournament & Vice capton, Hassan Farooq, fell for only 1 in the second over. Mahtab finished as the tournament’s leading scorer with 228 runs in 7 matches with Strike rate of 237.5. He hit 22 sixes & 11 Fours & One Fifty. Hassan(Lahore Qalandars) wins the award for most catches (8) this season. Ahmad Zafar(Islamabad United) 7 wickets earn him the ‘best bowler’ award. Ahmad Also won the Player of the Tournment award. Peshwar Zalmi Finished the series on 3rd with 6 points equaling to Runners up Lahore Qalandars Whome NRR Was the highest among all so they Qualified for the final.
Amazing tournament .. it was such a well organised event . Though everyone played competitive cricket & gave their best to beat the opponents , the level of discipline & camaraderie exhibited was simply awesome..had a wonderful 2 days wd all the wonderful people .. special thanks to Waseem Bhai , Dr Mahmood, Qayoom Bhai , Alamdar Bhai , Mehtab Bhai , my captain Shahid Bhai , Asim Bhai & all other friends who made this a memorable event ..
