Karachi Kings Champion of PGL Season two!!by Dr. Waseem Rahim KhanKarachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars in a thrilling final between two teams held in Riyadh, capital city of Saudi Arabia. Final match was high scoring match with superb performance by both teams. Karachi Kings scored 96 runs in 6 overs with brilliant innings by Vice captain Asim Malik, Omair Chaudhary and Dr. Nabil. Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bat. It was apparently not a wise decision as winds were blowing too fast for easy hits but Karachi Kings went all out right from the start. They got a boost when Dr. Nabeel scored 20 runs in 4th over taking runs to 62. Finally Karachi kings could able to score 96 runs with more lofty shots and support of some bad keeping. Lahore Qalandars started their innings quite comfortably and started chasing the set target but Kaarchi Kings bowlers made the target difficult with some good bowling by Dr. Waseem Rahim Khan, Faooq and Osaid Aijaz. Lahore Qalanadars needed 20 runs in last over which Karachi Kings bowler Omair Chaudhary did not let them get with his super bowling. Unprecedented Karachi Kings deserved to be the champ as they defeated Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in both of their leagues matches.Points table finally stood as Karachi Kings top team, Lahore Qalandars as runners up, Islamabad United third and last team fourth position was Peshawar Zalmi. The Tournament preceeded by closing ceremony with trophies, medals and mobile sets as prizes for players. Best bowler was Ahmad Zafar of Islamabad United, Tayyab Hussain of Peshawar Zalmi was the best batsman of the tournament and Sultan Siddique of Islamabad United was best fielder of PGL season two. |
