2019 Captains & Umpires MeetingKindly note the Captains and Umpires meeting for the HDCL 2019 season is scheduled on Saturday May 4, 2019; from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Burlington Police Station (address provided below):Address: Burlington Police Station, 3800 Constable Henshaw Blvd, Burlington, ON L7M 4M8 We request all Captains along with key representatives of the respective member clubs, as well as umpires to attend this meeting to familiarize yourselves with important updates for the 2019 season. The Agenda for this meeting will be to educate all Clubs and Umpires regarding the following elements: 1. Reminder about the structure/format for the T20 (Ed Burn) and regular season (40 over) games of the season, including, qualification criteria and update on restructuring of the league over the next couple of years as we all collectively grow. 2. Critical updates regarding the playing conditions and by-laws that were adopted at the most recent 2019 SAGM. Our common vision is to ensure consistency in application of rules for playing conditions as well as discipline on the field. This meeting provides an avenue to bring everyone together on the same page and familiarize yourself with the prerequisites of the League. 3. Please be reminded, the invoices have been sent out to all clubs , and the expectation is to settle these invoices either in person at this meeting or prior to the meeting. 4. The balls will be available for pick-up at this meeting. Elite ($55/game), Premier ($50/game), 1st Division ($40/game), and Edburn/T20 ($25/game). We strongly suggest to collect balls and settle at this meeting for the convenience of individual clubs. Mr. Zain Khot will be available in-person to assist with collecting all settling all financial dues from the Clubs. Kindly note, it is the responsibility of clubs to ensure they are equipped with League provided balls and have settled their dues prior to the commencement of the season. 5. For Umpires, please collect your T-shirts for umpiring, as it will be a pre-requisite for umpires to be in League provided attire for administering games. Overall, the Executives would like to share important updates and bring all respected members and umpires on the same page to ensure we are able to function collectively and enjoy the 2019 season in the right spirit. Please note, the Ed-Burn T20 tournament schedule will be released as soon as practically possible. We are finalizing minor details, and will share the final version once it has been formalized. Rest assured every effort is being made to share the schedule with members at the earliest, hopefully very soon. However, the tournament is expected to start the weekend of May 11/12, to provide some leeway for planning. Also, stay tuned for more important updates as we approach kick-off for the season.
