A quick recap of KCC-WTR match ? KCC won by 45 runs It was drizzling all the way to Iowa City and rain forecast again in the early afternoon. However both teams were very determined to play. The match started late due to soggy outfield and overs reduced to 25. Waterloo put KCC to bat under ideal condition for swings. Their decision paid off immediately as KCC lost couple of quick wickets within first six overs. The slow outfield and early wickets pegged KCC down a bit. But Pradeep continued to score briskly until he was caught superbly at cover on 29. When rain interrupted the play KCC was around 100 run on 17th over. The rain stopped in a while and the play resumed within 15 minutes. However, the rain of sixes began from Carl?s bat. The partnership of Carl and Firoz added like 65 runs in last 5 overs. The target was 179 for Waterloo, a daunting task under difficult batting condition. Shivraj bowled very well and took four wickets for Waterloo. Waterloo started the chase well with some occasional hits to ropes but keeping up with asking rate was very difficult. The wickets started tumbling after the initial power play. Shivraj and Darshak batted well in the middle order, but it was not enough. All KCC bowlers kept the run-rate under check, supported by good ground fielding. Waterloo could only accumulate 133 runs at the end of 25 over. Sukhen and Pradeep took 4 and 2 wickets respectively. Carl was adjusted man of the match for his 74 runs, superb bowling and catching effort. Kudos to both teams for upholding the spirit of the game and continue the match under the testing conditions. The over-rate was very impressive from both teams, which allowed the completion of the match despite rain threat.
