CRK won the toss and elected to bowl first. Chethan got the breakthrough in the first over courtesy a brilliant catch by Parvath at point. There after NCC played well and were cruising at 58/2 , at end of 8 overs. Sanket and Singh had good spells with Singh taking two wickets. At the end of 15th over NCC were 88/4. After the drinks break JJ, Aniket and Francis took on the CRK bowlers and played very well to post 199 at the end of 30 overs. CRK innings started miserably, CRK were 23/4 at the end of 6 overs. From there Naveed & Amer had a 60 run partnership. Naveed played a brilliant innings of 27 and was out of the last ball before the drinks break. After the drinks Amer took on the Omaha bowlers, hitting 8 huge sixes and scoring 71 of 39 balls. NCC came back into the game by grabbing, two crucial wickets and CRK were 142/8. Needing 58 runs of the last 10 overs. Chethan and Balaji had a good partnership before Chethan got out. With 35 needed in last 6 overs with only one wicket in hand, the game was almost over for CRK, Balaji and Singh played calmly and achieved the target with 1 over to spare. The match was played in good spirit and there were no controversies. |
