Spartans 39/2 (Gopi 4/8, Mohan 3/13, Ganesh 17*) beat Sharks 38 (Manoj 10 & 1/14) by 5 Wickets Scorecard and Ball-by-Ball Details Spartans followed up a clinical performance in their last Super Six game, against Y-Nots!, with another stellar performance to qualify for the finals of LNCL 2016.Earlier, Sharks won the toss and elected to bat first. Starting steadily under the watch of Manoj & Deva they got to the score of 20 in fifth over without much drama. Gopi stuck in his first over to remove Manoj, after which Sharks really couldn't gather any momentum and with the regular fall of wickets eventually folded for 38 in the 10th over. Gopi & Mohan shared the honors with the ball for Spartans. By the time they were done with their quota, they'd accounted for all of Sharks' batsmen. Gopi's spearing yorkers were a stand-out. Defending a below par total, Sharks broke through early to dismiss Krishna cheaply. Ganesh walked in to play a watchful innings to see the team through and returned with a respectable 17 Not out, an innings filled with solid defense and exuberant strokes at times. Srini & Arun played their part to ensure there would be no nervous moments. Manoj and Vinoth bowled their hearts out, but the Sharks batsmen hadn't put much on the board for the duo to defend. Spartans will now face winners of TAP Vs Wolfpack Game, scheduled for tomorrow. |
