Below are some rules apart form the MCC rules which will be followed during the League. https://www.lords.org/mcc/the-laws-of-cricket
Player Participation: Players must participate in at least three games to qualify for the playoffs.
Team Registration: Each team can register a maximum of 30 players.
Super Sub Rule: The league allows for a "super sub" rule, enabling teams to substitute 1 player during a match.
Toss and Match Start: The toss will be conducted promptly at 7:45 PM before the scheduled match time 8:00 PM. If a team does not have a minimum of seven players on the ground by this time (7:45PM), the opposing team automatically wins the toss.
Inning Duration: Each team will have a duration of 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete 20 overs.
Inning Completion: The first inning will conclude at 9:10 PM.
Inning Break: A 10-minute inning break will be provided between the two innings to allow teams to regroup and strategize.
Time Limit for Bowling Team: If the bowling team fails to complete its 20 overs within the allotted time (1 hour, 10 mins.), the batting team will receive the average runs per over for the remaining overs.
Adjustment to the Batting Team's Score: For example, if the bowling team only manages to bowl 18 overs within the stipulated time frame, and the batting team is averaging 6 runs per over, the batting team's score will be increased by 12 runs (6 runs per over × 2 remaining overs). The bowling team will then be required to chase the total score, including the additional runs, within the same number of overs that they bowled. The bowling team would need to chase the revised target within 18 overs.
Player Conduct and Spirit of the Game: Players are expected to adhere to high standards of sportsmanship and fair play. Any form of unsportsmanlike conduct, including but not limited to verbal abuse, physical altercations, or disrespect towards officials, will not be tolerated.
Umpiring and Disputes: Umpires' decisions are final and binding. Players and team officials are expected to respect the decisions made by the on-field umpires and match officials. Disputes should be resolved amicably and in accordance with the spirit of the game.
Player Eligibility and Transfers: Players are only eligible to represent one team throughout the league.
Disciplinary Action: In the event of misconduct or breach of league rules by players, teams, or officials, disciplinary action may be taken by the league management. This could include suspensions, or expulsion from the league, depending on the severity of the infraction.
Preparation Responsibility: The home team must set up the wickets and boundaries before the toss time. Failure to comply will lead to the loss of the toss.
Game Management: Matches will be played from one side or both ends as determined by the umpire's discretion to optimize time efficiency.
Uniform Requirement: All players must be dressed in proper uniform attire while on the field.
Documentation Duty: Teams are tasked with completing the match sheet to ensure accurate recording of match details.
