In addition to all the standard rules of ICC, we have added a twist for making the league matches more interesting. It’s called TACTICAL FRILLS, it’s not at all mandatory to use but it is a strategic and tactical call of the team to get some bonus reward by taking an extra calculated risk.
a. CHALLANGE OVERS
i. Challenge Over Batting [ COBA]
⮚ The batting team may declare the fifth or sixth over as a challenge over.
⮚ In Challenge Over, the Batting Team must score 13 or more runs.
⮚ If this is achieved, Extra 5 runs will be awarded to the team score, if not 5 runs will be deducted from the team score.
⮚ In case runs score in the COBA are less than or equal to 5 runs, over will be considered as maiden over.
⮚ The extra runs gained & deducted will be recorded to the extra column and will not be awarded to the batsman.
Is it Compulsory to take the COBA? -> No, not at all.
Example:
After 4 Over TEAM A Total Score: 25 Runs
TEAM A takes 5th Over as COBA, Run to Score: 13 [COBA] or More
Case 1. COBA Achieved
TEAM A Scores 15 runs in 5th over.
Then Total Runs gained in 5th Over: 15(Scored)+ 5 Bonus
After 5th Over Team A Score: 25+15+5 = 45 Runs
Case 2.1 COBA NOT Achieved
TEAM A Scores 12 runs in 5th over.
Then Total Runs gained in 5th Over: 12 [Scored] – 5 Penalty
After 5th Over Team A Score: 25+12-5 = 32 Runs

Case 2.2 COBA NOT Achieved
TEAM A Scores 5 runs in 5th over.
Then Total Runs gained in 5th Over: 5[Scored] – 5 Penalty
After 5th Over Team A Score: 25+5-5 = 25 Runs. In this case, anything scored 5 or below will be declared as a maiden over.
ii. Challenge Over Bowling [ COBO]
● The bowling team may declare the seventh or eighth over as a Challenge Over.
● The bowling side must limit the number of runs given in the COBO over to 8 or fewer.
● If the COBO is Achieved, 5 Runs will be deducted from the batting score. In case if the batting team scores 5 or below, this over will be considered as a maiden over.
● If COBO is not achieved, Extra 5 runs will be awarded to the batting team.
Is it Compulsory to take the COBO? --- No, not at all.
Example:
After 6 Over TEAM A Total Score: 25 Runs
TEAM B takes 7th Over as COBO, Run to Defend: 8 [COBO] or less
Case 1. COBO Achieved
TEAM B gives 8 runs in 7th over.
Then Total Runs gained in 7th Over: 8(Scored) - 5 Bonus
After 7th Over Team A Score: 25+8-5 = 28 Runs
In this case, anything scored 5 or below will be declared as a maiden over
Case 2. COBO NOT Achieved
TEAM A Scores 9 runs in 7th over.
Then Total Runs gained in 7th Over: 9 [Scored] + 5 Penalty
After 7th Over Team A Score: 25+9+5 = 39 Runs
"How to Call a Challenge Over"
⮚ Challenge Over Batting [ COBA]
o The batsman is to confirm from the umpire if the particular bowler is going to bowl the 5th or 6th over.
o Umpire will confirm with the captain of the fielding team for its confirmation. Once confirmed the batsman is allowed to declare the over as a challenge over.
o Once the over is declared as a challenge over the fielding team can't change the bowler by any means.
o Any means of changing the bowler will be treated as unfair and will be treated Under Case 1 of COBA.
o Any means of changing the batsman other than a fair dismissal will be treated under case 2.2 of COBA

⮚ Challenge Over Bowler [COBO]
o The fielding team can call the challenge over in the beginning of the 7th or 8th over.
o Once the over is declared as a challenge over the fielding team can’t change the bowler in any means.
o If changed, it will be considered unfair and will be treated under Case 2 of COBO with no minimum target.
o Any means of changing the batsman other than a fair dismissal will be treated as under case 1 of COBO with no conditions to it.
Please Note
⮚ Final calls are reserved to umpires' call
⮚ TACTICAL FRILLS are applicable to league matches only.
