Richard Holdsworth, High-Performance Director of Cricket Ireland, said:

"We are pleased to be returning to the Caribbean where we have so many great memories. The World Cup Super League is a crucial set of fixtures for Ireland as we attempt to qualify for the next Cricket World Cup, and if the series in 2020 is anything to go by – we look forward to a highly competitive series in January."

Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies, said:

"We are looking forward to welcoming Ireland back to the West Indies in January. They last visited the Caribbean in 2020 and we had some exciting encounters, so we can anticipate a competitive series to start the new year"

It has to be noted that the three ODIs which will be played between Ireland and West Indies will be part of the World Cup Super League. While West Indies are placed eighth on the table, Ireland stands at fourth place. Ireland’s tour West Indies will be followed by their visit to the USA where they will play two T20Is and three ODIs. The only T20I played between WI and Ireland might be the farewell game for Chris Gayle.
