GENERAL CONDITIONS • SOUTH BATINAH CRICKET LEAGUE(SBCL )will be played with the usual Yellow Tennex ball with 16 overs per side. • All teams will get sufficient matches to prove their ability in this league. • All confirmed teams will be added to the SBCL Whatsapp group, the schedule will be posted in the group every Monday • Similarly, all scorecard in pdf format should be sent in the official SBCL Whatsapp group after the match. • The normal cricketing rules will apply for this league, except LBW and free hit. SBCL TOURNAMENT RULES • SBCL Cricket reserves the right to change or modify the rules/playing conditions as deemed appropriate before or during an event. Any changes made will be conveyed to all team captains and umpires. • All players and officials taking part in SBCL Cricket events agree to the rules & regulations outlined. Any player or team in breach of the rules, spirit of cricket or bringing SBCL or the game into disrepute will be terminated from participating in the SBCL Cricket Tournament. • Main & square leg umpire will have a consultation before making any conservational decisions Note: The main umpire may at their absolute discretion over-rule an incorrect or unfair decision made by the acting square leg umpire. • Show respect to opposition players, teams and umpire. Insulting, intimidating behaviors will not be accepted on or off the field. • Umpire decision will be the final decision. • Unruly, bad behavior will not be allowed on or off the filed by anyone. SBCL management reserve the rights to remove the player/individual immediately from the field. FIXTURES AND TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE • The final structure of the league will be announced as per the total number of teams. • However, due to Covid situation SBCL management has full authority to change it during the event to complete the tournament in case of long gaps due to lockdown and any other such. • Any changes made will be conveyed to all team captains. • All games must be completed in accordance with the schedule allowed. No rematch is allowed under any circumstance. PARTICIPATION OF TEAMS, PLAYERS & SUBSTITUTES • The minimum number of players required to register a team is 15 players. • A team can add additional 3 players in in the squad before the end of group/league stage. • No additions can be made to the team after the stated cut-off date i.e. league/group stage. • The team should provide players ID card or passport number & Vaccine certificate. • All players should have vaccinated by 1 dose at least • Wicket keeper is allowed to bowl immediately after keeping. • A player’s will be allowed to represent only 1 team. • If a team is found with a player other than the player list. The teams will loss 2 points if they had won the match on same day. • A runner can’t be allowed for on field batsman . • Retire hurt batsman will be allowed to bat as the last batsman for the team. • Bowler should be in the field for 3 overs to ball again if he goes for a break out of the field for 2 overs CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that the team has paid its registration fee in full before the league starts • Ensure that the team arrives at the match on time • Informs opposing captain of playing XI and notifies SBCL Management of any players that are playing and are yet to register themselves. • Provide new Tennex yellow ball at the start of the match • Ensure the scoring is done in the Cricket Scorer App recommended by the SBCL committee • Assign a good scorer who has knowledge of using the cricket scorer app. • All players name in the app are according to the ID Card which are entered on the website. (No short and pet names are allowed under any circumstances). • Ensure that the team and all players play within the SBCL Spirit of Cricket and adhere to the rules and regulations outlined • Approach the umpire for any clarification DURATION OF THE MATCH • Each innings will comprise of 1 hour 20 minutes. • Bowling captain must ensure they maintain a reasonable over rate and good behavior of the team in the field • Each innings interval shall be no more than 10 minutes in for all matches. • There will be no formal drinks break. • However, in extreme heat conditions, under the discretion of umpires, players may be permitted to take drinks break. • In certain limited cases, batsmen can call for drinks between overs with the approval of the umpires BOWLING • 4 Overs per bowler and minimum of 4 bowlers to be used • If a bowler cannot complete an over due to injury or being penalized, the remaining balls in the over will be bowled by another bowler • Bowling is allowed inside the return crease only • Throwing is not considered as bowling; the bowler will be taken out immediately • A bowler is required to inform the umpire from which side and arm he will bowl, otherwise it will be called as a No-Ball. • Only one bouncer is allowed in every over and the second bouncer will be a No Ball. Above shoulder line bouncer can be called as first bouncer. Bouncer above head will be wide and same can be called 1st bouncer. • Any delivery which passes or would have passed on the full above waist height of the striker standing upright at the popping crease is deemed a no-ball. • The decision of no-ball rests with the main on-field umpire (upon consultation with the square leg umpire) or by mutual agreement with the square-leg umpire • If a bowler bowls 2 waist height full toss in the match, he will be taken out of the attack at the same time and cannot bowl in the match. • To keep the spirit of cricket, Mankading is only allowed after the 1st warning to each batsman • If the ball pitches or goes through the wide line it will not be a wide ball POWERPLAY & FIELD RESTRICTIONS • Two fielders must be inside the circle for entire 16 overs. • 5 players can be placed on leg side (Bowler and Wicket keeper not included) • Only 2 fielders can be placed behind the square leg umpire • Main or square leg umpire can call NO-Ball if fielders are not in proper fielding position and if any fielder shouts or talks while bowler is bowling after a warning given to the captain. POINTS & PROGRESSION • A team that wins will be awarded 2 points, in case of loss 0 points • In case of No Result or Match Abandoned, each team will be given 1 point • A match shall be lost by a side which concedes defeat or forfeits the match (due to arriving late, not being able to play, late withdrawal from the tournament, disciplinary reasons or any other reasons deemed fit by SBCL) • In case of a tie a Super Over will be played until the result is obtained or if Super Over is not possible due to any circumstances the winner will be decided by coin toss • Net run rate will be calculated if teams have equal number of points to advance to the next stage • If Net run rate is equal, there will be a Super Over to decide who goes in to the next stage or if Super Over is not possible due to any circumstances the winner will be decided by coin toss NET RUN RATE & ITS CALCULATION • NRR = (total runs scored/total overs faced) – (total runs conceded/total overs bowled) • Please refer https://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/page/429305.html for NRR MISC • Rest all standard cricketing rules will be applicable for this league.
