COVID-19 Related Rules.

 

  1. IF YOU FEEL UNWELL, stay home!!!
  2. No shining the ball or using any bodily fluids on any shared equipment.
  3. Use hand sanitizers when we go off the field.
  4. Bring your own food and drinks.
  5. Use face masks to cover nose and mouth
  6. Maintain 6ft distance on the sidelines.
  7. Please speak up if you see guidelines not being followed. Understand that this is for everyone's benefit.
  8. No High-fives or hugs for celebration. Namaste/Salaam/Japanese bow etc works.
  9. Use gloves for batting. No sharing of gloves/equipment. Several options for gloves available in any hardware store (Latex/work/cricket).
  10. Be respectful to umpires, scorers, and fellow players. They are all doing their best with no personal gains. No chatting with umpires.
  11. No handing caps or personal items to umpires.
  12. We are all here to have fun. At the end of the day we are all friends, and this is just entertainment and encouraging cricket in the Lehigh Valley.
  13. Due to complications from the CDC guidelines, the rest rooms are closed. We have taken extra efforts to provide Porta-Potty. Please ensure the safety and security of the utility. Do not litter anywhere in the ground.
  14. Trash & Garbage: Carry in and carry out your stuff. Please do not leave any Trash or Garbage in and around the ground.

General Rules:

 

  1. All participating team members must sign the individual waiver forms acknowledging that they have understood all the tournament rules and shall follow them.

  3. The venue has limited parking spaces so Carpooling and/or sharing the ride is highly encouraged to avoid congestion, accidents, and/or delay in the matches.
  4. All team captains must sign in with the Organizers of the Tournament upon arrival at the latest by 15 minutes before scheduled start time of their match. Late Arrivals and/or Reporting may result in consequences.
  5. All participating team members must cooperate and comply with instructions given by the Organizers of the Tournament.
  6. All visitors and participating team members shall be responsible for cleaning up their own trash. Do NOT leave the empty water bottles, liquid containers, plastic bags, papers, napkins etc. littered at the venue. Please utilize the Trash Bags/Cans as necessary.
  7. Use of any type of weapons such as firearms, guns, knives, etc. and any type of fireworks are strictly prohibited on the venue.
  8. Consumption of illegal drugs and/or alcohol are strictly prohibited at the venue.
  9. All disagreements and/or conflicts shall be dealt in a civil manner. There shall be zero tolerance towards violent behavior. Behaviors such as aggressive gestures and foul language that can be perceived as public endangerment shall result into instant disqualification of that team.
  10. The venue is in a Public Park. All the visitors and participating members shall comply with all the applicable Public Park/Township Rules and Regulations.
  11. All participating members shall maintain peace in the neighborhood. Playing loud music, indecent behavior, and unreasonable shouting shall be strictly prohibited.
  12. All participating team members shall not willfully or recklessly endanger the health or safety of any person.
  13. Loitering without a reason is discouraged to avoid unnecessary crowding at the venue.

Game Rules

  1. A maximum of fourteen(14) players per team squad to be nominated at tournament registration.
  2. A maximum of eleven (11) nominated players are eligible to play each game.
  3. If there is a change in players, the captain must inform the Core Committee before commencing the tournament. Violations will have consequences. 
  4. The players playing in Playoffs and Finals should have played at least 50% of the league matches. (Unless the opposition captain has no concerns with the change)
  5. A match shall consist of two (2) twenty (20) over innings (one innings per side, six balls per over.)
  6. Max 4 overs per bowler.
  7. The team scoring the most runs in the match will be declared the winner. 
  8. Point allocation for the games will be as follows:
    1. Two (2) points for a win.

    2. One (1) point to each team for a draw or cancellation of the game.

    3. Zero (0) points for a loss.

  9. If tournament type: Round Robin

    • Qualifier 1: Top 1st & 2nd play Qualifier 1. Team which wins goes to the final. 

    • Eliminator: Top 3 and 4 play the eliminator.

    • Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 plays with the winner from the eliminator to qualify for final

  10. If tournament type: Pools

    • Top 2 teams in each group will qualify for the Semi Finals. Once the league matches are complete, organizers will announce the Semi Finals playing order.

    • Winner in each semi-final will play finals for the trophy.

  11. In case of minor league, we will have the teams which end up on 5, 6, 7, 8 to play the Qualifier rounds like the top pool.

  12. Where there is weather interruption, the tournament committee will amend format as appropriate.

  13. It is anticipated that each round in pool play will take no longer than 200 minutes with the following guidelines: 

    1. The captains’ briefing and toss will be done 10 mins before the game. One player (preferably Captain) from each team MUST attend. 

    2. The game will commence as soon as possible after the captains’ briefing.

    3. A 5-minute break is allowed after 10 overs.

    4. Each innings will take no longer than 90 minutes with Ten (10) mins between innings.

    5. If the team (Captain & Vice Captain responsible) is not present 15 mins after their scheduled time. It will be a walkover for the other team.

  14. Neutral Umpires to be chosen prior to the game, decided based on availability. 

  15. Captains to nominate at least two players for umpiring/scoring. 

  16. Umpire decisions are final and need to be acknowledged by all teams. No team/ team member should argue with the on-field call and umpires have full powers to forfeit the game and give a walkover to opposition in case of a team crossing the line.

  17. The tournament committee has full rights to make decisions.

  18. Customized Cricket rules

    1. There are no LBWs. But Leg byes are allowed. (Umpire are requested to let teams know that this may be out when LBW rule is enforced in future tournaments.)

    2. Wide or No-Ball will be re-bowled and awarded 1 run.

    3.  If a bowler delivers a no-ball by overstepping the crease, it costs 1 run and an extra ball. 

    4. "Free-hit" is awarded for overstepping and breaking field restrictions. The field does not change if the same batsman is on strike after correcting the breach.

    5. Runs for over-throws are counted and awarded to the batsman. 

    6. Ball Handling: Batsmen should not touch the ball with their hands.

    7. Player SWAP Rule for team: Swap of a player can be done at a charge of $50.

    8. Only regular wooden bats are allowed for batting and provided hard tennis ball can be used.

  19. During the pool play phase, if a match ends in a tie, the side who has scored more runs off the bat (Excluding Extras) shall be deemed the winner. 

    1. If, after applying the above rule, the match is still tied, the side which has lost the least number of wickets shall be deemed the winner.

    2. If, after applying both the above rules there is no clear winner, the match will be deemed a draw. 

  20. In the Semifinal, qualifiers, eliminator, and final if a match ends in a tie, one super over will be played at the opposing team while complying with the following conditions: 

    1. The winner of a coin toss between the captains will determine who bats first. 

    2. Three Batsman will be designated to play super over by team captains and if one batsman is out then the third batsman plays. If another wicket falls, the super over ends for that team and the next team comes to Bat. Whichever team makes more runs in super over declared as winner. 

    3. If a match ends in a tie, the side who has scored more runs off the bat (Excluding Extras) shall be deemed the winner. 

    4. After applying the above rule, the match is still tied, the side which has lost the least number of wickets shall be deemed the winner

  21. Team has 2 referrals to challenge the on-field umpire decisions. The umpires can review with each other. If needed, captains and/or organizers can be consulted to make the right decision. 

  22. Every team must provide two umpires from their team who can be utilized as neutral umpires.

  23. Retired hurt rule: If a player is retired, he can only come back as a #11. Tiredness is not considered under this rule. Umpires have the right to determine if the player can be categorized as retired hurt or retired out. Retired out will not allow the player to come back to bat.

  24. No by-runner allowed.

  25. It is the umpire's responsibility to find out where the bowler is bowling from. If the bowler changes the side and bowls from the other side without informing, it is deemed no-ball.

  26. Rest of the rules are designed as per the ICC rules.

Field Restrictions Rules

  1. At any time during the match the number of fielders on the leg side cannot exceed five.
  2. At any instant of the bowler's delivery there shall not be more than two fielders behind the popping crease on the on-side, other than the wicket keeper.
  3. During the first six overs, the number of fielders outside the 30-yard circle cannot exceed two.
  4. After the first six overs, the number of fielders outside the 30-yard circle is limited to five.
