MATCH 15: SILVER STARS V DRAGON TAILSIt was a must win game for Dragon Tails with win here, they would have stayed in the hunt for Semis. It was a spirited start for them with combo of Suman/Murthy created havoc . Murthy had his hand in all 6 dismissals in the match taking 5 catches and 1 wicket. Suman 4 wickets kept the team in the game but not enough support from other bowlers and a very sensible 7th wicket partnership of 22 b/w opener Gulab( 30 not out) and Leela(14 not out) ensured Silver Stars got away with a good total of 96. Dragon Tails still had their chances with a good opening stand of 29 b/w Anudeep and Tulasi but pressure played its part and rest of the batting withered away and finally they can muster just 78 runs. All bowlers chipped from Silver Stars chipped in and it was a great effort from them. Dragon Tails as a team promised a lot but will rue this opportunity as they are now out of race for semis. Silver Stars are on a roll and became the first team to qualify clearly for semis. They won all their league matches and will be the team to beat from here based on form. |
