MATCH 17: BAKERS V OLYMPUSIn the penultimate match of the league round which was also the final match for the Group C, Bakers edged out Olympus and attained the top spot in the Group. With 3 wins out of 3 matches and superior run rate, Bakers are the top team from league round among all 12 teams which is credit to them. Batting first Olympus lost wickets at regular intervals and could not get enough momentum into the innings. Sanjeev with his run a ball 28 runs steered the innings but tight bowling and agile fielding from Bakers restricted them to an average total of 70. In reply Bakers lost wicket in first over but then batted sensibly to keep the score board ticking and then a flourigh by Kasi in 12 over sealed the match for them. Olympus fought well but are now out of contention for Semis while Bakers will play the winner of the wild card match to be held next week in one of the Semi-finals |
