Hello All,

Hope your Ramadan is going well, It is almost half done. Be ready to face part 2 of MDCL 2016. As I said writing something like this take an hr or two, therefore, sorry to write with long gaps. Please have attached ranking list as of 6/5/2016 games.

Anyway, let me start from teams ranking as of 6/5/2016. The top teams like MGCC and Macomb Striker are still on top two positions, but, Rebels and Deccan Blitz showed a significant jump from previous position. Both teams are now showing their strength and beat other good teams to get this new ranking.

Despite of Tayef lead performance Det Royals faced back to back two losses and lost their top position. BD Boyz was unlucky to have last game point split due to ground unavailability when they were very close to a potential win against team Challengers. They are asking Committee to control ground availability which is very difficult during the schools year end events. We use their property, how come committee ask school to give us preference and keep their parking lots open for MDCL. I guess, if we go to school management and ask their events schedule, they may simply say not to use parking lots for MDCL games. Ground unavailability due to school events is an unforeseen situation which MDCL teams have to live with. Committee is not able to take any steps to make sure ground must be available for the MDCL games in regular round.

Killers and Det Warriors played less games so far and both teams have potential to get qualified for QF. Challengers and Det lions are at risk at this point.

Det Badshahs, MCC, and Panthers are still struggling this year to bring their team to secure position to qualify for next round. From now on they must win almost all future games to be part of quarter finals playing teams.

In players ranking TAYEF, Shahewar, Malek, Sami, and Farrukh Khaild are holding top 5 batsmen position. They all are 50 makers. Shahewar Ali of Deccan Blitz showed 2nd time consistent good batting. His back to back 100 and 50 is showing he knows how to bat in MDCL. He is threat for other teams now.

In Bowling department, Roney (Rebels’s Mr. Little) is on top with 16 wickets, his back to back 4s and 5s wicket haul brought him on top. Rest of top bowlers Sathya (Tigers), Junak (BD Boyz), Nahid Alam (Dt Royals) and Wahab (Tigers) are on top with 11 and 10 wickets.

In Fielding, teams wicket keepers are beating rest of the other fielders and taking adavantage of their fielding position. Anik with 18 catches is on top, Shuber, Shaib, Sami and Farrukh are trying to chase him to get his position.

For Most Valuable Player title, Tayef and Malek are close to each other, but, significantly way above to rest of other three top MVPs Jaber, Farrukh, and Shahewar, they are claiming 1st and 2nd position respectively.  

Because of part of top 10 in all three batting, bowling and fielding departments, I would say . Farrukh Khalid and Tayef are showing their leaderships and driving their teams with their excellent consistent performances in all three Batting, Bowling, and fielding departments. They are ideal to lead any team.

Other record breaking performance belongs to Deccan Blitz who made I guess, first time in MDCL history 200s as a team total. WOW, this 200 mile stone is really something in 20 overs game of MDCL and they made it against a good team Det Royal. I see a firework from Deccan Blitz tail enders Shafaat with few sixes which helps Deccan Blitz to reach this total.  

In the end, I would request all team captains that please forward any notable performance of their any players which I could not catch here. My objective here to encourage all top performers who deserve a word of recognition. You can send e-mail to all using group e-mails or you can submit a comments in MDCL web site. Lets have some CHAT to make this MDCL further interesting. Just make sure your comments should be constructive and may not hurt other feelings.

Playing and enjoying good cricket on the field is one thing of MDCL, but, most important to make MDCL interesting off the field also with your comments (if any) about anything related to MDCL.

Last thing to avoid any misleading stats, it is teams responsibility to keep eye on any false entry. Committee may check randomly, but, we need all teams and players support to catch any false entry. The punishment to enter any false stats will cause that team or players to disqualify from any award participation.
