Risers skipper Syam won the toss and chose to bat first. Risers openers Srinivas and Sathish started well before Sathish got out for the first ball of 2nd over. Srinivas continued with his good batting before he got out after making 9 runs. Maharanas kept the pressure and continued to take out few more wickets. Mohan Krishna and Sarath played well in the middle order and built good partnership and that put the risers at decent position. Before taking the break, Risers scored 49/4 at the end of 10th over. Immediately after the break, Maharanas controlled the risers with good bowling and consistent wickets. Towards the end of Risers Innings KK and Sunder’s good running between the wickets helped the Risers reach 86 runs before all the batsmen got out in 19.5 overs. With 86 runs on the board to defend, Risers bowlers started well with their fierce bowling that put the Maharanas at 2/2 at the end of 2nd over that included an excellent catch by Vijay at the first slip. Suresh R was exceptional with his first spell conceding just 3 runs in 2 overs picking up 2 important wickets. Risers continued their excellent bowling, added with good catching (including another good catch at first slip by Sathish, excellent run out from a Mohan Krishna and Hari, it was a very good throw by Mohan Krishna from boundary line and Hari did excellent job to do the rest) kept taking out Maharanas wickets. At the break, Maharanas were at 26/7(10th Over) that summarizes the Risers team effort. Kalyan continued his magical spell and took out last few wickets before Maharanas got all out for 40 with six overs left.
