The Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA), the governing body for cricket in Malaysia, seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the pivotal role of Director – Cricket Development at its headquarters in Selangor, Malaysia.

As the Director of Cricket Development, you will be crucial in shaping and executing MCA’s participation and Cricket Development programs. This encompasses designing strategies for Schools & Clubs growth, managing Sustainable Pathway Projects, and supporting modified formats to enhance player engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Game Development:
  • Design and deliver Schools & Clubs growth strategy.
  • Oversee Sustainable Pathways- Project Management.
  • Recognize, celebrate, and support modified formats programs.
2. Centre of Excellence Programme:
  • Develop and execute the MCA Centre of Excellence (COE) strategy.
  • Manage COE schools & university cricket pathway programs.
  • Oversee player scholarship programs.
3. Cricket Academies in Malaysia:
  • Lead the establishment and licensing of Cricket Academies.
4. To manage the Affiliate's Members Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with affiliate members' scorecard data.
  • Coordinate and consult with Affiliate Members.
5. Player Development Pathways:
  • Assist MCA Members in defining long-term player development pathways.
  • Collaborate with Affiliate Members to identify and implement player development strategies.
6. Budget Management:
  • Manage the MCA central budget related to COE and development programs.
7. MCA Leadership Team:
  • Actively participate as a key member of the MCA leadership team.
  • Connect with counterparts, share best practices, and contribute to additional projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 years of management experience in a sporting organization.
  • Proven expertise in sports management and designing development & player pathway programs.
  • Strong project management and financial reporting skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of sports participation programs and the game of cricket.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and develop partnerships across sectors.
  • Creative thinking, innovation, and the ability to work independently.
  • Based in Selangor, Malaysia.
  • Provide two recent work references.
Terms of Employment:
  • Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
