Amjad Khan, a hard hitting opening batsman was born in Kashmir. He played for his state Jammu & Kashmir at U-19 level as well as First Class cricket (Ranji Trophy) in 1988 before emigrating to the US in 1990. Khan excelled in local leagues in New York and California and represented the US national team in Red Stripe in Jamaica and Americas Cup tournaments. He holds the record for one of the highest individual scores in North America, scoring 304 not out in Northern California in 1999. He also scored one of the fastest 100?s off 54 balls in the US in the final of Eastern American cricket league in NY in 2012. Amjad also scored 44 off 6 overs against Wasim Akram and Shahid Afridi in the world double wicket tournament at the Houston Astrodome back in 2002.
