2nd Ruslan Cup 2073 kicksoff

The departmental teams Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC) have won their respective matches in the inaugural day of the “2nd Ruslan Cup 2073” at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Tuesday, 26th Poush 2073.
Vice-President of Nepal Nanda Kishor Pun inaugurated the 8-day tournament ball handing over the bat and ball to the umpires amidst a function at TU Cricket Ground.On the occasion, Pun also participated in batting and bowling before the inaugural match of the day.

In the inaugural match, Nepal Police defeated Himalayan Cricket Academy (HCA) by 81runs in the first match while
Nepal Army registered nine wickets victory against New Rising Star in another match of the day.

Himalayan Cricket was bundled out for 102 runs in 19.4 overs against the target of 184 runs by Police. Aarif Sheikh and Prem Tamand claimed three wickets each while Dipendra Airee took two wickets and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi a wicket for winner.

Sunil Dhamala made a half-century scoring 54 runs while Kushal Bhurtel contributed 33 runs and Dilip Nath 26 run. Manjeet Shrestha and Siddhant Lohani scored 12 runs each and Airee 10 runs.

Bhupendra Thapa had made half-century with 73 runs in total while Kamal Airee, Prakash Bist, Avinash Adhikari, Arun Airee and Pawan Karki took a wicket each for Himalayan Cricket. NPC’s Dhamala was also announced the man-of-the-match.

In another match of the day, Army packed New Rising Star just to 87 runs in 18.3 overs as Jitendra Mukhiya alone grabbed four wickets and Sagar Pun three wickets.

None of the batsmen of Rising Star could score more than18 runs. Sushant Singh Thapa and Rabindra Jung Shahi made 18 runs each while Rabin Thapa scored 14 runs and Sujan Pun 13 runs.

In reply, Army easily met the target making 90 runs in 11.1overs with the loss of a wicket. Sagar Pun made 39 runs, Mahesh Chettri 24 runs and Naresh Budhayer 18 runs for winner.
