Jerome Jets (JJ) is a New York City based cricket club created by Bangladeshi immigrants living mostly in the Bronx and Queens. Founded in December 20 of 2017, the motto of the club is mutual respect and athleticism among the members. JJ was founded by Mohammed Shahittu, Shams Parvez, Shah Rizwan Mahbub, and Shah Faisal Mazhar- friends who have been playing cricket together around Jerome Avenue, Bronx for a long time. Hence, “Jerome” comes in the name of the club and most of the members is living around Jerome Avenue.
            So far, JJ participated in ametuer cricket competitions like Commonwealth Cricket League (CCL), a 35 years old cricket competition at New York City. In their very first season (Summer 2018), JJ managed to go to the knock-out stage (quarter-final) of CCL. Moreover, JJ was awarded as the best team of CCL south division.
 
Season Summary 2018
            JJ played 12 matches in group stages of CCL where they won 5 matches, lost 5 matches and 2 matches got abandoned due to bad weather. The first win of the season came against Bronx Hydras. The quarter-final match was played against the prestigious Pasban CC (current CCL champion) and was lost. The most runs (171) were scored and the most wickets (15) were taken by Shams Parvez, vice-captain of JJ. The best batting average belongs to Abdul Muhit (58.50) and the best bowling economy rate belongs to Shah Faisal Mazhar (5.44), captain of JJ.
