South Africa's tour of England will start with the first ODI on Tuesday at the Riverside Ground. The English team lost the recently completed ODI series against India and would be expecting a better result from this series. Three T20Is and three Test matches would follow this series. Adil Rashid, who missed the limited-overs series against India, is available for selection and might find a place in the playing 11. South Africa would be without the limited-overs captain Temba Bavuma on this tour. He sustained an elbow injury during the T20I series against India last month. Veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj would be captaining the side in the ODI series, while David Miller would be at the helm for the T20I series. Kagiso Rabada is also not a part of the squad and will return for T20I matches. South Africa played two warm-up matches against England Lions last week. They lost the first game after England Lions chased the target of 319 runs in just 37.1 overs. Proteas bounced back in the second game and won by 107 runs after posting 360 runs on the board. Quinton de Kock didn't bat or keep wicket in both these matches due to a finger injury and would be back in this game. |
