Warriors Rise like a Phoenix from The AshesDefeat after defeat after defeat. Phoenix has many questions to answer. But so far they have only provided a single, croaky-throated, bloody-mouthed response: "We lack solid batsman." Deepak Negi is a beaten man. But is he a broken one? It takes a leader to lead. We all know this. Last year Phoenix was sitting by the boundary ropes, crestfallen, chin buried into that chest, hopeless. Negi must walk up to that limp spirit and whisper something into that bleeding left ear or bruised right one. What he says will determine the outcome of Phoenix vs. IT battle. Once again, The thin disc of metal will fly through the air, light glinting off its surface, a mere infant in the arms of old man gravity's inevitable embrace. As Skipper’s tender vocal chords will thrum and form the word: ‘Heads!’ ‘Tails!’. It will tumble and tumble- the disc - like the seasons, the clouds, the planet itself - and then fell down to earth. There is a hint of inevitability in what will happen next. However, the fort looks secured for the Phoenix. Phoenix Warriors bowling will leap, roar and set ablaze the pitch. But would it carry on a fresh pitch? This is when your mind begins to play games, draw imaginary parabolas, competing conjectures of curvature.
