Finals Week @ OCA's NP Dodge Inaugural T15 Tourney: We entered finals week with 8 contenders competing for the championship and the glory it brings. OCA Patriots was the first team to make it to the final 4 followed by OCA Hunters who had a nail bitter with Huskers United. Royals made their way into the semis with ease followed by Mavericks beating Lincoln Cricket club. The much anticipated semis between OCA Patriots and Mavericks lived up to its expectations as the game went down to the wire before Patriots sneaked through with a tightly fought win to make it to the finals. Omaha Royals had a great show with the ball restricting OCA Hunters to a sub-par score but had a few hiccups chasing courtesy some good bowling and fielding by Hunters, before they managed to chase down the target. Finals between OCA Patriots and Omaha Royals was another cracker of a game with the game swinging both ways before Roopesh sealed it for Omaha Royals chasing down the target with 1 ball to spare. Presentation ceremony had some renowned people from the community as Chief Guests. To start the presentation the most valuable people (MVPs) who work off the field to get the tournament running have been recognized for their services. Praveen Sudini, Yeshwanth Narayana, Ajay & Naveen received the honors. A special recognition/token of appreciation from OCA has been given to Mr. Bhaskar Krishna Setti for his 20 years of relentless services to bring a "State of the Art" NP Dodge Cricket field to Omaha cricket. The winning teams were awarded with trophies and cash prizes - Champions Omaha Royals ($700) & Runners Up OCA Patriots ($300). MVP of the tourney Avinash Gurram ($100), Best Bowler Gowtham Maranani ($50) & Best Batsman - Avinash Gurram ($50) were awarded cash prizes as well. Cash Prizes were sponsored by Teksett.  |
