When a 16-year old Vinay Reddy stroked the ball fluently with incredible ease at the National Cricket Academy in 1999, there was a talk among the pundits that he would be the next big thing in Indian cricket. However, life isn't always rosy for the gifted as people think and Vinay found that out the hard way, partly due to his own faults as well.Vinay was the captain of the Gachhibowli Under-19 team and led them to the semi-finals of the Jaffa Cup in Gachhibowli in 2002. There was the ideal opportunity for him to take his game to the next level but it wasn't to be. At the domestic level, consistency eluded him despite the obvious talent and his attitude problems further compounded things. Finally he is settled down as software engineer :).
