Hello and welcome. We had a new "first" something. You may heard of playing under lights, playing under overcast skies but at PfCL we played first match "under sprinklers".

Match 1 had many disruptions from sprinkers and Team Falcons faltered in executing their plan whereas Team Mavericks despite wet conditions on ground
pulled their act together and restricted Team Falcons to a modest total of 68. Then came another round of discussions with both Teams, Organizer and Umpire to label as Exhibition Match. Finally the group agreed to continue as an League Match with revised Target of 79 for Mavericks as 10 runs were added as penalty.

The revised target didnt matter who after losing their opening batsman continued to dominate Falcobs bowling finding gaps and boundaries. It was a dream debut for Rohit who settled nicely as 1 down and former Captain Tarun hitting some solid blows. The final formality was completed in style by their captain Mr. Maverick Akhil.

Match 2 was a thriller which involved Defending champs Black Jacks under new leadership of Jenit and Texas Titans looking for that elusive win in PfCL. Titans started of confidently with Muhammed and Abhinay but an unfortunate mix up cut short the Muhammed's innings. Then it all went downhill very quick for Titans who lost wickets in a heap and were 7/47 before Sunny, Ritesh joined hands in resurrecting the team and added another 26 runs. Just when they were about to accelerate Gavaskar got Sunny caught and in next 10 balls the Titans folded up.

Much was expected from the Defending champs but the modest total, some brilliant bowling and pressure took toll on the team. Black Jacks had half of team back in the hut and were struggling at 5/30 and were staring at defeat. Replacement Kiran Sirasani built a partnership with Gavaskar before Titans came back in the game again and took 3 quick wickets in space of 10 runs. But Kiran held his nerve along with Sai and ensured that Black Jacks won.

Another thriller was expected in Match 3 from last year 3rd position Avengers and new entrant Master Blasters. Avengers were on the attack from Ball 1 and lost their opener ben and another twin strikes from Pradeep in 5th over means Team Master Blasters were struggling at 4/26. It was all left to their skipper Gaurav to take them out from the hole and he built a solid partnership with Bhanu and laid the foundation for their power hitters tl come. And Dhruv directly hit top gear clearing boundaries at will. In space of 12 balls for 37 runs he changed the complexion of game and ensured that Master Blasters dont end up on a par score but in fact go past the magicsl figure of 150.

It was going to be uphill battle against the pace duo of Dhruv, Bhanu and they took the openers failrly easily. Skipper Atta walked in at loss of 2nd wicket and along with Harsha started putting his team back on track never losing sight of target in mind. With pressure mounting he tried to slog and holed out. Then came the body blow when theor batting mainstay Siva Busa was dismissed for a duck. Avengers lost the momentum and the game and though there were some late fireworks by replacement subs they hardly mattered. Aveners were all out for 76 handing one of the biggest wins of 75 runs to Master Blasters..

So that's curtains on Week 1. See you guys in Week 2.
