RCL 2017 Rules: Defined by RCL 2017 committee All matches will be 15 overs each. Playing Rules:
- Overs 1-3 will be batting power play (3 fielders allowed outside inner circle)
- Two consecutive overs between 11 & 12 are mandatory bowling power play (4 fielders allowed outside inner circle).
- There will be an inner circle marked for the games. At any time there should be a minimum of 4 fielders inside the inner circle.
- 3 overs maximum per bowler
- Free hit only for crease no-ball.
- A ball bowled full above the waist will be considered as a no ball irrespective of the speed of the ball.
- The umpire shall call and signal Dead ball if a ball which he considers to have been delivered, without having previously touched bat or person of the striker,
either (i) bounces more than twice. or (ii) rolls along the ground.
- One bouncer is allowed per over. A bouncer is a ball bouncing above the shoulder but below the top of the head. Any other ball in the same over which bounces above the shoulder will be called a no ball.
- If a ball bounces above the head, the umpire can call the ball wide depending on batsman's position.
- A no ball will be awarded if some part of the bowler's back foot in the delivery stride does not land within and touches the return crease.
- Overthrows will be added as a part of the game this year.
- There will be no byes, leg byes and lbw’s.
- In case of a tie, a super over will decide the winner of the match. In case the super over ends in a tie, the rules from the below link will be applied. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Over
Tournament Rules:
- Top two teams at the end of the league stages will play the qualifier to decide as to who will be the first finalist.
- The loser from the qualifier will play against the team placed third in the league matches to decide the second finalist.
- A set of 10 umpires will be selected for the entire tournament.
