Rebel Force T20 Blast Rules:

The laws of the ICC Limited over cricket apply to Rebel Force T20 Blast Cricket, with some exceptions:

  1. Rebel Force T20 Blast Cricket match is played between 2 teams of 8 players in each team.
  2. An over will consist of six balls. If a wide/no-ball is bowled in an over, the ball will not be re-bowled and the batsman will be awarded with 2 runs. There has to be 6 legal deliveries bowled in the last over of an innings.
  3. A bowlers run up is restricted to 10 metres.
  4. A bowler can only bowl a total of 4 overs in an innings, with an exception if a bowler has got 4 wickets in his final over and has an opportunity to get a 5th wicket, then he is entitled to 1 more over at the expense of another bowlers over.
  5. A maximum of 4 fielders can be on either side of the wicket at any time.
  6. A batsmen can only be dismissed by being caught, bowled, leg before wicket, run out, stumped, hitting the ball twice, Hit wicket and or obstructing the field.
  7. Mankading is not allowed in Rebel Force T20 as we feel it is against the spirit of the game and to be ungentlemanly. If a batsman is continuously stealing ground, the bowler or teams captain could ask the umpire to give the batsman a warning. If the batsman continues to steal ground once warned then the umpire may call a short run and no runs will be awared for that ball bowled.
  8. Any delivery that passes the batsman on the leg side unhindered is classified a wide. For off-side wides, the umpire will have a marker before the match.
  9. A full toss delivery that is above waist height is a no-ball and will be called by the Official Umpire only. All no-balls will result in a free hit to the batsman, where the batsman can only be dismissed through a run out, hitting the ball twice, obstructing the field or handling the ball in play. If a no-ball is bowled at the end of an over, the first ball of the next over will be a free hit.
  10. Any delivery above the batsman's shoulder height will be called a no-ball.
  11. In a rain or bad light affected game, both teams will have to bat a minimum of 8 overs. Revised totals will be calculated on a runs per over basis. If it rains during the innings break, the score for the team batting first will be calculated by taking their 5 best run scoring overs and their 3 worst run scoring overs.
  12. Each team that wears identical matching shirts will be awarded 1 extra bonus point and a team wearing matching trousers/shorts will be awarded another 1 bonus point.
  13. If a team is short of players on match day and they have a fill in player registered from another team, regardless wether they play A Div or B Div, they will be penalised -10 runs, can only bowl a maximum of 2 overs and may only take the crease to bat as batsmen number 7 or 8.
  14. Looking at the competitive nature of Rebel Force T20 Blast, a player can play for a team in the knock out/semi final and Final stages provided that he is registered with the team and he has played at least three round robin matches for that team in that current league.
  15. If for under any circumstances a team is short during these knock out/semi final and Final matches, written consent needs to be obtained from the organisers and the opposing teams captain for any fill in players that are registered with that team that have not met the criteria above to be able to play.
  16. The match may also end as a draw if scores of both teams are equal at the end of the match regardless of wickets fallen. There will be no draw in the knock out stages of the league.
  17. In case of a draw in the knock out stage of the league, a Super Over will be bowled to determine the winning team. Only 3 batsman will be allowed to bat the Super Over and 2 batsman have to be given out to end the Super Over. Any 1 bowler can bowl the Super Over and there has to be six legal deliveries bowled in the Super Over.
  18. In case of a draw at the end of the Super Over, the team that lost the least wickets will be adjudged the winner. In case it remains a draw, both teams will enter a "Death Over", where 6 bowlers from each side will bowl at the wickets without the batsmen and whoever hits the stumps the most will be declared the winner.
  19. Teams will receive league points as per the table at the end of this document.
  20. Please note that we are following the standard ICC procedures for calculating the bonus points. 1 bonus point will be rewarded for the team that achieves victory with a run rate 1.25 times that of the opposition. A team run rate will be calculated by reference to the number of runs scored divided by the number of overs/balls faced. Where a side is all out, the number of overs to be used is the maximum number of overs that side was otherwise eligible to face. A normal win will fetch the winning team 8 points and a win with bonus point will fetch the winning team 9 points. A tie will result in rewarding 4 points to both the teams.
  21. If teams have equal points at the end of the group stages, net run rate will determine which teams proceed to the knock out stages.
  22. A new ball will be used at the start of each innings. Bowling end will only be changed after the 10th over has been bowled. Batsman will change ends at the end of each over.
  23. Square leg umpire - The next batsman in to bat will take on the duties of square leg umpire and may only call run outs and stumpings.
  24. Every bastmen's first ball of his innings is a Free Hit, where the batsman can only be dismissed through a run out, hitting the ball twice, obstructing the field or handling the ball in play. If a batsmen retires and returns to the batting crease during the innings, he does not get another Free Hit. If a bowler bowls a wide on the batsmens Free Hit, then the next delivery the batsmen faces will also be a Free Hit. If a batsman is dismissed on his free hit by being bowled, then the ball will become a dead ball and no runs will be awarded.
  25. Once a batsman has scored 52 runs, he has to retire. He may return to bat once all other wickets have been dismissed.
  26. Once the 7th wicket of the innings has been taken, the captain of the batting side can choose one of his lowest two scoring batsmen to bat again. Once the 8th wicket falls, this ends the batting innings. The runs scored by this batsmen will be scored as extras and will not go to his indiviual stats.
  27. Any runs accumulated by this batsmen, does not get recorded to his league stats. Only his first innings is counted.
  28. Each Innings will commence with a compulsory 4 overs Power Play.
  29. During this Power Play, the fielding side has to have 2 fielders up close in catching positions within the Inner circle. Any balls bowled during these overs where at the umpires discretion, if the fielders are not in close catching positions will be called a No-ball and the following ball will be a Free Hit to the on strike batsmen, where the batsmen can only be dismissed through a run out, hitting the ball twice, obstructing the field or handling the ball in play.
  30. " Double Zone " - 2 Flying banners will be placed on the boundary at varying positions through out the league games in positions agreed upon by management. Any batsman that scores runs between these 2 banners will have their runs scored doubled. If a batsmen hits a 4 between these flags, he will be credited with 8 runs and if a batsmen hits a 6 between the flags, he will be credited with 12 runs.
  31. If a team forfeit a match, they will be charged match fee x2 (their match fee including their oppositions match fee), 2 points will be deducted from their points table and the opposing team will be awarded maximum 8 win points for the match and 2 bonus points for matching Shirts and pants if the team would have had the same kit.
  32. If a team does not turn up on match day, they will be charged match fee x2 (their match fee including their oppositions match fee), and 4 points will be deducted from their points table. The opposing team will be awarded maximum 8 win points for the match and 2 bonus points for matching Shirts and pants if the team would have had the same kit.
  33. Rescheduling of a fixture : If a team wants to reschedule a fixture due to any circumstances, they may do so by giving Rebel Force T20 Blast organisers 10 days notice prior to the fixture, giving the organisers enough time to find another team to fill the aloted fixture.
  34. If a team pulls out of the league at any stage, an invoice to settle the balance on the team statement for the league will be sent to the team. On non payment, local authorities will be informed for debt collection.
