League Match 1 - Phoenix-11 vs Crick-IT

Revamped Phoenix-11 sends a strong message with huge win.

Phoenix-11 is one team that comes up with brilliant performances from individual players every year but chokes as a team at crucial moments. This year they have a team with lot of promising new faces and some settled players. Their squad have a new young look for it which is reflected in their dominating match against Crick-it team. They have scored at almost 6 per over and set a good target of 92. Thanks to their top order batsmen Anthony and Mouli who scored 36 and 20 respectively. Both of them capitalized on some week bowling from crick-it. Also the third highest scorer is extras where crick-it gave away 14 runs which proved costly for them. The best bowler for Crick-it team is their captain Satchi who got 3 wickets for 10 runs. He is one of the standout all-rounder to be watched for this year in upcoming matches.
Phoenix-11 bowling line up is spiced up with some intriguing pace bowlers and it’s on display today. They rattled the crick-it team with some disciplined pace bowling which ensured not only a win but with a huge margin to boost their NRR. Crick-it who are chasing a huge target were bundled out for 37 runs. One would say chasing pressure caught on them but being the first match this would be a good learning curve which may help for them to settle soon. But credits to the bowlers Neeraj, Pawan, Dinesh and Siva who all shined with ball and shared wickets almost equally. They are the stars for Phoenix-11
Phoenix-11 for sure have sent a strong message to top teams with their in-form batting lineup and fascinating fast bowlers. If they can turn up with such performances on every match they will be a hard team to crack. It’s going to be exciting to watch more of their performances in rest of the SNTCL’16
