General cricket playing rules apply for T20 cricket (inclusive of free hit)
We will be playing 12 a side cricket where the 12th man is allowed to bowl. 11 players are allowed to bat as per normal.
A batsman may not sit out the whole innings then come out and bat, he will need to spend a minimum of 4 overs on the field.
Umpires will be allocated for all matches
Under no circumstances are the coaches, managers or parents allowed to abuse the umpires in anyway. Should this occur, the coaches/parents/managers will be escorted out of the premises.

All teams are please to make sure that they have coloured clothing or at the very least a coloured shirt.
Any foul language from the players will be handled severely by the umpires and mangers. This will result in the player being sent off the field of play, and he may no longer participate in the game. The player will also be suspended for one game, and a disciplinary hearing will be held at the end of the day’s play. Any other matters that occur on the field will lead to a warning, and then the player will be sent off and receive a one game ban.
All teams are to please make sure that they leave their area clean when they move from it.
Tosses for the matches will be handled by the managers on each field. Captains are please to toss 30 minutes before the start of play. In the event of a team playing back to back matches, the v/c or the coach is please to attend to the toss.
Captains are to please submit a team sheet at the toss; a template will be provided.
Due to time constraints, the incoming batsman and the batsman that is out are to please cross on the field of play.
Teams will be penalised 8 runs per over that they do not complete.
Umpires have been given strict rules to stop the innings when the time has been completed. If, however the over has been started when time is up, the over will be completed.
Managers and umpires will have stop watches to inform coaches and managers of time.
Teams will have One hour and 15 minutes to get through their 20 overs
Teams that arrive late will lose overs in their batting innings i.e. 3 minutes per over.
The awards function will take place on Sunday at 17:15 on the De Klerk oval.
Weather and no show
If weather interrupts a game and no play is possible, then both teams receive 2 points (no result)
If weather interrupts first innings of a game, overs will be deducted at a rate of 3mins an over i.e. 30 mins lost would be 10 overs
If play is suspended for longer than 1hour15min then the game will be defaulted to a no result and both teams receive 2 points
If weather interrupts the 2nd innings of a match, then the game will be defaulted to a no result and both teams receive 2 points
If a team does not show for their fixture at all, the opposition will receive full allotted points of 4 and an additional +1 net run rate. The team that does not show for the fixture will automatically be expelled from the tournament.
- If a team arrives late to a fixture, they will lose overs to their batting innings based on the amount of time lost at a rate of 3mins an over
Points System
If a team wins they will receive 4 points
If there is a tie fixture then both teams receive 2 points
Weather drawn game, both teams receive 2 points and a +0.5 net run rate
If teams are tied on points NET RUN RATES will be used
In the knockouts, if there is a tie then a double super over will be played with no limit on the number of wickets lost.
- If there is still a tie after a double super over, then a single super over will be played - If there is once again a tie then a bowl out will be played
