South windsor Cricket Club League (10 Overs) Rules - 2020


1. All the games will be played with hard tennis balls. A new ball will be provided for each innings. 
2. A player can represent or play for only one team in the tournament. No exceptions allowed. 
3. 2 overs of mandatory power play. Only 2 fielders are allowed outside the circle. 
4. Maximum of only 5 players allowed outside the circle in non-power play overs. 
5. No METAL Spike shoe - To protect the MAT. 
6. All umpire decisions should and will be considered final. Any disagreement/concerns during an ongoing match needs to be sorted out between designated standing umpires (score keeper), captains of the ongoing match and if present an organizing committee member. Discourage group of players arguments.
7. If umpires cannot resolve the issue i.e. when the rule is not documented here then the umpires will bring it to the notice of organizers who will finalize the decision. 
8. All the bowlers can bowl up to maximum of 2 over’s in an innings. 
9. Ball going over the head is a wide ball. 
10. Full toss over waist high is No Ball. 
11. Two bouncers allowed in an over that are above the shoulder and below head high. Third Bouncer in an over will be called a no ball.
12. Free hit for all NO BALLS. Only run out is the way to get batsman out in case of free hit. 
13. Any ball down the leg side is a wide. If a batsman moves across and the ball is going over the stumps it is a legal ball. 
14. In case Batsmen playing ‘switch hit’ and ball go to the leg side in between the wide line that is a legal delivery. 
15. In case if batsmen plays reverse sweep all the rules to his batting side applies as usual. 
16. No-ball will be declared if the ball bounces more than twice before reaching the batsman/popping crease. 
17. No LBW’s or leg byes. 
18. There are byes. 
19. Over throws runs are allowed. 
20. If a game ends up as tie, super over will be played to determine the result. 
21. If a team cannot make it to a match per schedule? Opposition automatically becomes winners as long as they show up with full 11 at scheduled time. If both teams are not available, zero (0) points will be awarded to both teams.  
22. We cannot postpone or reschedule games for any reason due to a short cricketing season. 
23. One player can represent only one team in the League. 
24. Teams are expected to arrive to the playing area no later than 20 minutes from the scheduled time. Toss will be done 15 minutes before every scheduled game. After that the team arrives late will lose an over for every 5 minutes delay for next half hour. Then the match will be terminated by declaring the opposition (who also have to have full squad present) as winners. 
25. A rain interrupted game will restart, if weather permits within the next 30 minutes, otherwise the game points will be split equally. Washed out games – Each team will get 1 point each, except the play offs, Reserve Days will be used. 
26. Any RULES not explicitly described here will follow the MCC LAWS of Cricket.
27. Registration payments must be made by announced final date of registration. Registration once paid will be considered final, no-refunds will be allowed once schedule has been announced.


Power Play: Total of one power plays in an innings:

 Power Play 1: Mandatory Power Play for overs 1 & 2. 

Tie Breaker rules: 

 No match will result in a TIE. In case if a match ends in Tie, a super over will be introduced and the run rate from the super over will be considered which will be added to the current run rate to ensure the team with highest run rate will progress to the next stage. 
 Please note a super over will be used in ANY stages of the match to determine a result. 
 Each team bats one over under the same restrictions as for the final over in a pool match
 The team batting second in the main match will bat first in the Super Over.
 In a super over (6 balls) will be bowled by a bowler
 Each side has three nominated batsmen, meaning that the loss of two wickets ends the Super Over.

Awarding Points: 

 Winning team will be awarded two (2) points. Losing team will get zero (0) points. 


Ground rules:
1. There Must be no alterations, changes or additions to the park facility or infrastructure
2. Youth Groups will not be allowed at the facility until adult supervisors have arrived and there shall be adequate supervision of youth participants at all times.  Adequate supervision is 1 adult (age 21 or older) per every 10 youth.
3. Receptacles will not be provided for the disposal of trash. Patrons are expected to carry out what they carried in and keep the facility free of litter.
4. Teams are responsible for proper care and use of park facilities. 
5. Storage of private property and personal belongings cannot be accommodated.
6. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES will be allowed in any part of the park facility.
7. NO GAMBLING is allowed at the park facility.
8. NO OVERNIGHT PARKING allowed.  (Town Ordinance #5-900) Commuter parking is prohibited.
9.   Smoking is strictly prohibited.
Substitute rules
• Substitutes are not allowed to bat or bowl
• In case of an injury (during match) a substitute fielder will be on the field replacing the injured fielder.
• No Runners allowed at any cost. Player can retire hurt or out and bat last in the order if he get a chance. 
• If you do not have playing 11 & someone is available, you can use as a substitute fielder no batting no bowling for them. Max limit 2 substitutes. 
• Outside tri -state ( MA , CT , NY/NJ) players are not allowed (because of the COVID Situation)

Sledging
• Though sportive aggression is allowed on the field, verbal abuses, use of profanities directed at players of the opposing team or umpires will be considered as offensive behavior and will not be tolerated.
• Player should inform the ruling umpire, respective captains and tournament committee in case of sledging
Penalties for Offensive behavior:
• The team being eliminated from further contention of the tournament.
• If a player is reported of being offensive, then he will be suspended from playing rest of the tournament.
• If a player is found drinking (alcohol) / smoking inside the ground, then he will be suspended from playing rest of the tournament.

Decision Making
• Umpire’s decision is final.
• Umpire can check the ID of any players during the play to check whether he is in the 16 players list and Within the state rule.

• Champions, Runner up
• Man of the match (Every game) (as per cricclub app, can be override by the umpires and captain of the winning team)
• Man of the series (as per cricclub app)
• Best batsmen of the series (as per cricclub app)
• Best bowler of the series (as per cricclub app)
• Best Keeper of the series (as per cricclub app)
• Best Fielder of the series (Catches and Run outs excluding Keeper) (as per cricclub app)
