WPCA REPORT of September 7, 2018 BY: Dr. Sayed Ziauddin Innings of sheer carnage by Shamsuddin Englapurath smashing 145 for his team KKR against UCC but still landed up on the losing side while Ejaz Butt of Stallions claimed 5 for 19 along with a 4th over Hattrick to win against Al Hukma in the WPCA hostilities last Friday. In the WPCA Super Challenge Cup Semi Finals 1, Zultec emerged victorious to book a berth in the Final to be played on September 21, 2018 by downing AOT by 7 wkts here at the WPCA arena last Friday under severe hot weather. In the last week pool matches in Afternoon Challenge Cup UCC, Abu Dawood, Timex KKR and Marine Services have qualified for the Semis to be played next week. In the Morning Summer Tournament Al Kabbani Cricket Group, Sadafco, NNG Sports, Apex Freight, Nesma Holding, Universal United and Red Sea ALJ arose winners. MORNING SUMMER T 20 WEEK 21. NNG Sports deciding to bat first stroked 147 for 6 in curtailed 15 overs through Aamir making 53 in 29 balls with 7 fours and a six as he added 86 runs in 49 balls for the first wkt with Shahzad who make 44 in 28 balls with 6 fours as one down Mohsin contributed 28 in 16 balls with 4 fours. APEX FREIGHT batting first after they were asked to bat first was bowled out for 150 as Asif stroked 36 in 30 balls with 3 sixes and a four while Abdul Aziz Akbar hit 2 fours and 2 sixes to compile 22 in 11 balls, Rizwan 21 in 16 balls with 2 fours and a six as Naeem was run out for 15 off 11 balls with a six later Abubakar made 12 with one four. Nadeem Saad took 2 for 23, Abbas 2 for 40, Nazeer 1-4 and Nadeem 1-22. Al Saudi Green in response could make 124 in stipulated 18 overs to lose by 26 runs. Thanks to Umair blasting 72 in 31 balls with 4 sixes and 8 fours as he added 53 in 26 balls for the first wkt with Tariq Siddique who made 16 in 13 balls with 2 fours and then 77 in 33 balls for the 3rd wkt with Nadeem who was run out for 59 in 36 balls with 6 fours and a six as Ejaz Butt contributed 10. Red Sea ALJ opted to bat first piled up 189 for 8 in allotted 18 overs thanks to Bashir smashing 3 sixes and 7 fours to compile 57 in 30 balls as he added face saving 52 in 37 balls for the 4th wkt with Zeeshan who made 18 in 22 balls with 3 fours after they were reduced to 9 for 3 in the first 2 overs. Later Zahid remain unbeaten on 48 in 18 balls with 3 sixes and 4 fours as Ali was not out on 17 of just 4 balls with 2 sixes and a four as Bilal made 15 in 13 balls with 2 fours. AL Hukma International opting to bat first was bowled out for 135. Mehmoud stroked 48 in 31 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes and Abdul Wahab 35 in 38 balls and Suliman 12. Ejaz Butt claimed a hat trick in the first 3 balls of his 4th over with the figures of 5 for 19 as Waqas had 1-7, Abdullah 1-8 and Faizaan 1-16. Stallions chasing reached the victory target of 139 for 4 in 90 balls with 18 balls to spare. Ejaz Butt having a good all-round performance hit 6 fours to compile 36 in 16 balls as Waqas 28 in 33 balls with 2 fours Sohail remained unbeaten on 28 of just 9 balls with 5 fours and a six and Aqeel 16 in 20 balls with one six. Abdul Wahab claimed 2-30, Abdullah 1-19 and Saleem1-24 MATCH NO -35: UCC DECIDING TO BAT FIRST SMASHED 222 FOR 8 IN ALLOTED 20 OVERS BEAT TIMEX KKR 196 FOR 7 IN 20 OVERS BY 26 RUNS. UCC deciding to bat first smashed 222 for8 in allotted 20 overs thanks to Shah Nawaz Khan scoring the top most with 81 in 42 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours after a good start was given by Rehan who made 41 in 21 balls with 7 fours and Muneeb Anwar 41 in 17 balls with 8 fours after they added 69 in 29 balls for the opening stand later Ahmed Faraz contributed 20 in 14 balls with 2 fours. Shafiq 19 in 14 balls with one six and Waseem Abbas unbeaten 14. Kabeer 2-28, Dilshad 2-29, Shahjahan 2-35, Jassir 1-35 and Saifu 1-38. Timex KKR in response could get to196 for7 in stipulated 20 overs to fell short by 26 runs to lose the match. Shamsuddin Englampurath batted with class and concentration to literally 145 in just 67 balls with the help of 6 huge sixes and 16 fours as he accomplished his century in 54 balls and his fifty in 27 balls as he first added 78 runs in 45 balls for the 2nd wkt with Kabeer who made 24 in 18 balls with 2 fours and then 51 in 34 balls for the third wkt with Shafeer who made just 6 runs in the partnership. Faisal Mehmoud hit 23 in 8 balls with 3 fours and a six, Rafiq 22 in 17 balls with 3 fours as Qaisar smashed 29 in 13 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours and veteran Naeem Shah remained unbeaten 54 in 48 balls with 6fours. Abu Huraira took2-25, Amjad Jutt 2-23, Usman Gulab 1-17 and Ehsan Noni 1-37.
