Senior Showcase - MidwayThe first edition of a senior section in the JHB Winter League has produced AMAZING cricket up to now! It has been a long time vision of extending the JHB Winter League from junior to senior cricket and we are pleased with how it has turned out so far. A name that has been floating around in the cricket circles for all the right reasons has once again come to the foreground, his name... Zack Momberg playing for Soweto Pioneers. This is his first year involved in the league and boy has he turned heads, hitting a HUGE 271 runs at a strike rate of 225.83. In his first outing he scored 110 off a staggering 48 balls and since then he has put together scores of 77* off 28 balls and 2 knocks in the 40s (player profile). Soweto Pioneers take on Supa Strikers in their next clash Hot on his heels is a player synonymous with the Winter League for different reasons - Vincent Herold aka Hero has hit 205 runs in 5 matches at a strike rate of 253.09 (player profile) for Master Cricket Academy, Muhammed Manack scoring 149 in his 5 outings (player profile) playing for Marks Park Cricket Academy, Alexander Kok 143 in 3 matches for Meyerton Cricket Club and Nathan Grobler 128 in 3 matches for Kempton Park Cricket Academy Big hitting has been the order of the day in Senior Section, who knows whats going to happen over the coming weeks with Soweto Pioneers leading the charge to the playoff weekend!
