Under 15 Showcase - MidwayLogan Weetman is the leading runs scorer in the Under 15 section. I have not had the pleasure of watching him play so I was rather told about his performances and here is the general concensus: "He hits a long ball LONG". I know that doesnt really make sense other than you should fully expect that when he middles the ball rather give up on looking for it and grab another ball from the bag. His first year in the JHB Winter League has got off to a cracker scoring 102 in 59 balls playing for Dream Team. He followed up that performance with a rock solid 84 off 34 balls against Kempton Park Cricket Academy and scored a 30 odd in the other game. Dream Team have only played the 3 fixtures to date and he has amassed a whopping 221 runs at a healthy strike rate of 208.49 (player profile). Dream Team plays a TOP CLASH this week against Celestial Knights Academy in what should be a pearler of a game! In persuit of the top accolade in the batting category are the following players: Samrat Basu scoring 143 runs in 4 matches (player profile) for Marks Park Cricket Academy, Wian Ruthven scoring 142 in 2 outings (player profile) for Dream Team, Luan Ferreira 134 in 2 matches for Roodepoort Rebels and Ruben Groenewald scoring 123 in 3 macthes for Dream Team I fully expect that this age group is going to be SUPER competitive with many variables thown into the mix going into the last stretch of the group games. It has always been the group to showcase not just talent, but immense enthusiasm coupled with outright potential. I do envy the field managers at the Under 15 venues this year. |
